TV icon, Pauline Mc Lynn knows only too well the devastating reality of stroke. 💔⚡ Sadly, she lost her mum, Sheila to a stroke last October, 17 years after a stroke also took her dad, Padraig. "Despite losing two parents to it, it doesn’t make me feel there’s no hope – the quicker someone can be treated, the better the prognosis." As a tribute to them both, Pauline is supporting the Irish Heart Foundation’s ‘Act F.A.S.T.’ campaign to drive greater awareness of the warning signs of stroke. “It’s simply because my parents have gone that way that I want to highlight it so that people are aware." "The F.A.S.T. message is simple, and I’d like to think if my name is on one (stroke) that there will be someone close by who will know what to do.” The Irish Heart Foundation’s ‘Act F.A.S.T.’ message encourages people to know the signs of a stroke: 😐 Face – has it fallen on one side? 💪 Arms – can they both be held up? 🗣️ Speech – is it slurred? ⏱️ Time – time to call 112 or 999 – F.A.S.T. A huge thanks to every one of you who supported the F.A.S.T. campaign earlier and we hope you continue to help us to spread this life-saving message. ❤️
