Meet Emer. Emer’s role within Equipeople is in the travel section. She assists the students with all stages of their travel plans, from the moment they arrive until the moment they depart. Emer is originally from Dublin and started off her career as a Florist, where she worked in a busy flower shop for many years. She moved to Portarlington 22 years ago with her first-born son and is now a mother to 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl. One of Emer's sons is currently in Australia so she knows what it's like being a parent with a child abroad. She has been with us for a couple of years now and is doing a fantastic job of making sure that everyone gets to where they need to be.

Mandy and Linda are in Galway with the 2026 Summer Tour. This year there are 51 students on the tour and for the first time ever we had a waiting list. Today the group had free time in Galway and went to the Cliffs of Moher in the afternoon with a stop at the beach on the way.

A WEEK IN IRELAND. As you know we look after a lot of tours coming into Ireland and we have a tour here from 16 - 22 August and there are still some places available on it. It is going to be a very busy few days with the group seeing a lot of Ireland in a very short time. We will have dinner in a castle, cross the border into Northern Ireland, see the incredible Cliffs of Moher where we might even spot a dolphin or two, visit the donkey sanctuary, have an opportunity to ride through the Slieve Bloom mountains, watch a sheepdog demonstration and learn about the 1,000 year old Caherconnell fort. We will visit the world famous Irish National Stud and get to ride racehorse simulators in the Racehorse Experience. After that we will see the real thing when we go to Kilbeggan races. We will get to spend some time in Dublin, eat in lots of great restaurants and stay in a four star hotel. We have a lot planned so that you go home knowing more about Ireland, us as a people and looking forward to coming back to our fabulous country. I will also tell you about our lifestyle, our political system, our education, our ethos as a people and tell you all about the thorny issue of the Northern Ireland troubles. The price is €1,650 per person and that includes 6 nights in a four star hotel, meals, good quality transport in Ireland, visits, an experienced guide and a lot of fun. It does not include flights or beverages. For more information, please email me at [email protected]. Please share with anyone you think might be interested.

Here at Equipeople we are big into animal welfare and we can't emphasise enough how important it is to get your cats neutered. Female cats can have up to 20 kittens a year and can get pregnant as young as 4 months old. Those kittens then have their own kittens creating hundreds of unwanted and uncared for kittens. Animal charities are up to their ears with unwanted kittens at the moment and here at the Equipeople office we are fostering three of them for Offaly SPCA. Please make sure your cats both male and female are neutered
