Warming up a grey living room ☀️

A redesign of an existing space, the client had many good quality items in great condition that could be reused so we created a new neutral palette and added some fitted units & storage to improve function.
Although trends are veering away from grey-grey-grey you don’t need to banish it completely, we need to be sustainable in our designs & interior choices, so a good way to continue to use your existing grey pieces is to layer them in and use grey as an undertone rather than the focus, grey is a really versatile neutral that will balance out a warmer palette like this quite well ☑️

What is the number one question that every single client asks when designing an open plan room…

Tiles or Wood 🤔

The answer is quite specific to your individual requirements, so what’s right for one home may not be right for you.

Consider the factors on the last slide of this post to help choose the correct flooring for you.

And just to confuse you even more, there’s a third option, LVT… but we’ll talk about that another day 😊

I began 2021 in hibernation with a newborn during a level 5 lockdown and unbeknownst at the time it was exactly what I needed. It allowed us space and time to adjust to our new life, him in the outside world and me as a Mum of two.

But while hibernating away what I need to do became clear, in order for me to take the next step in my career, continue working on what I really love and to be the Mum I want to be to my two small boys, I made a big decision and with the support of my husband, family and friends, I launched Enhance Interior Design.

Once I made that decision everything started falling into place, I began meeting clients through word of mouth and referrals.
I received amazing training and support & met some of the most inspiring people though the South Cork LEO and the many programs & courses they run for local businesses and entrepreneurs.

I’m so grateful that I’ve had the most wonderful clients throughout 2021, with every enquiry that comes though I become even more positive that I made the right decision. I’m not going to say its been easy, I’ve never worked so hard but its been thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding… I work a lot, more than ever but I have the flexibility now to work around my duties as a Mum and for that alone, all the hard work has been worth it.

So a big ‘THANK YOU’ to the many people and my support system that have helped make this happen...

This room is now an absolute joy to spend time in, Its cosy, warm, inviting and fun…
But most importantly it's extremely functional, from the calming colour palette to the abundance of easily accessible storage, plenty of floor space and when left alone in here they are safe.
Its also been designed with the future in mind so as they grow into big boys and up until they are teenagers the majority of the design will still accommodate them, we’ll be able to swap out toy storage for desks and teddy baskets for guitars… but until then, it’s perfect 😊
