We attended a small house fire last night. We attended the incident with our Alpha 1 and Alpha 2 fire appliances. Within 2 minutes of being in attendance, the CK35 crew had rescued 2 dogs who had taken refuge from the fire in the upstairs bathroom. The breathing apparatus team of 2 had handed over the dogs to their owner and then re-entered the house to deal with the fire. We were then assisted by crosshaven fire brigade with their alpha 1.
Everyone is ok, including the 2 dogs, and the fire was extinguished in good time by the fire fighting BA teams.
Thankfully the home owner had working smoke alarms that had alerted the neighbours who then called 112.

Todays Top Tips: If you leave the house for any period of time, close all doors and turn off any electrical appliance that isnt needed. Closing the doors will slow down the spread of fire and keep most of the smoke contained to that one room. It will buy time until we arrive.

Our Alpha1 was spotted going mobile to incident this morning to assist Paramedics in Passagewest, via the Shannonpark roundabout live feed camera (M28 Cork-Ringaskiddy Cameras...Live Traffic Cameras - M28 https://share.google/9Plp3bxwUmcbQEXcn? ).

We were returning back to home station shortly after 9am when we were flagged down to help a lady who fell and hit her head at a bus stop outside Heronswood estate. She is ok and has been taken to CUH. Thanks again to the 3 members of public who stayed with her when it happened and helped her in her time of need.
