Another special birthday to celebrate today and that’s the one and only Katie Nicholas who has been on our journey since pretty much the very beginning. Katie not only plays alongside us, and supports us in so many ways, she is one of our coaching team, she enjoys helping out at the bakehouse and the former Coffee Stop prior to that. She is super spokesperson for the Jesters, her fundraising is legendary, she is a very dedicated Macra person too and this very much stands to her. We are delighted that through so many busy times and a few injuries Katie has always made herself available for games, she has travelled with us on so many occasions including the World Cup‘ 25 showing unwavering support for all our gang. Katie, have a fabulous birthday today and hope to catch up with you for a bevvy 🍺 sometime soon 🧡
We really had the most successful fundraiser in Rosscarbery today and we are so thankful to all those who contributed in so many ways (separate post of thank you’s tomorrow) this is Mags gig and she has put a lot of thought and effort into it over the years, and we were delighted this year when it was suggested by fellow Jesters that this event became the Patrick Santry memorial 5K, what a fitting tribute 🧡 it filled us with great happiness today as we thought so much about Patrick and this event that he so loved to take part in each year. He was of course very much missed today. It is truly fitting to have this event named for him going forward and we thank the Jester committee for providing the lovely plaque. However, the biggest thank you goes to all your wonderful people who turned out in droves today to support this event, we were blown away by the level of support and weren’t we lucky to get such a beautiful day that we were all able to sit around and enjoy the terrific food and refreshments that were served in a convivial community atmosphere. That’s what it’s all about, community inclusion and integration and a large helping of “Craic” 🧡

Huge congratulations to all those who so enthusiastically took part today. It was a wonderful all inclusive day and we all had Patrick in our thoughts because he did so enjoy this annual fundraiser and took part each year with great pride and determination.
Special shout out to Jessie Nicholson, the first Jester over the finish line today and who then took home the wonderful plaque press in Patrick’s name 👏 sitting proudly on the mantle piece already.
Huge thanks to all who made today the wonderful day that it was 🧡

We had a very busy fundraiser today and I have to apologise to one of my very favourite Jesters for being late in wishing him a happy birthday but we have been very busy! Happily I had a lovely album of photos of him ready to go!
🎁🎉🎁 Stiofán Cronin 🎁🎉🎁
We want to wish you the very happiest of birthdays today. You deserve to have an absolute blast with your family and I’m 100% sure that that is what’s on the cards. Stiofán has hardly ever missed a training session at Rugby and he has been with us since the very early days and a more enthusiastic Rugby player you are not going to find! He comes from a fine talented sporting family and has incredible support every step of the way. Younger brothers are involved and we have brother Mícheál who is one of our top coaches and sister Orlaith who is one of our ladies players, indeed a completely committed family. Stiofán is also involved in the boxing and the curling and very often available to help out in the Bakehouse as well and very fortunate we are to have such an enthusiastic Jester so have the most wonderful day and I know we won’t be training for awhile, but we will see you at one of our summer events along the way and have the best day possible 🎂
Registration underway. Fantastic array of refreshments on your return. Still time to join us..

We are so excited about the imminent release of this documentary, it became a part of our rugby lives to be followed by cameras as we played and trained alongside The Trailblazers in preparation for The World Cup ‘25. Oisín Mistéil and his crew became firm friends and we are so proud to have been a small part of this. The first Irish screening will be in Galway.
