I owe this photo for a very long time. Back in 2020 I learned about from . It then took me almost three years to get myself to photograph his mo. And almost three months to look through taken photos and retouch them slightly. Pretty happy how this one came out. Decent, isn't it?

This time something not from a studio. Outdoor photo shoots are fun but sometimes can be challenging. On one hand it's always a good opportunity to meet new people (and as you hold the camera — control them for awhile ;). On the other hand — you have to think quickly to get something out of a location you may be seeing for the first time. Or even worse: seen lots of times and got used to it to a degree when it's boring. A mix of well measured stress and novelty is always fun.

Портреты на улицы — классное развлечение, но иногда и забавное испытание. С одной стороны, это возможность познакомиться с новыми людьми (а заодно и поуправлять им немного, если у тебя в руках камера ;). С другой стороны, само окружение может быть совершенно не знакомо. Или ещё хуже: быть очень хорошо знакомым и примелькаться. Умеренный стресс и новизна — замечательное сочетание в любой работе.

I have to admit I like this style of portraits: plain dark background and a face on it. A very simple light setup which looks good and clearly not accidental. Easily tweak to fit anу age and gender

Нужно признаться, что мне нравится этот стиль портретов: простой чёрный фон и светлое лицо. С одной стороны - очень просто делается, с другой стороны не выглядит как случайность. Ну и легко подстроить под конкретного человека независимо от пола и возраста.

Decided to have a separate account for portrait portfolio and the very first one casually reminded me why do we even need photos of our close ones. Somehow managed to lose the original for this photo so now I only have a lousy jpeg. Luckily I still have Irina Safronova] to make more portraits=)
