It was a busy weekend for the club with two regattas in two different disciplines.
Saturday evening saw the club travel to Courtmacsherry for their annual timber yawl regatta.
Eve Harrington, Brooke Brazier Scannell, Beau Callaghan, Laura Twomey and cox Rachel Collins took to the water for the U12 beginners race where they put on a great display of rowing and won in fine style.
Eve and Brooke were back in the boat for the U12 race where together with Niall O'Mahony, Lilian O'Mahony and cox Rachel Collins, they rowed a great race and claimed the bronze medals.
Matthew Twohig, Gearóid Twomey, Oisín Geaney and Ailill Cronin were coxed by Rachel Collins in the U14 race where they rowed very well, finishing in 4th place.
Well done to all our young rowers and cox for representing the club.
Our thanks to everyone who helped out before, during and after Courtmacsherry regatta and to our hosts Courtmacsherry Rowing Club for a lovely evening.

On Sunday, Dinish Island was the location for the 2026 Castletownbere Endurance Regatta.
Cullen Kearns and Olan Brazier Scannell took to the water in the Men's J18 C2x. They rowed very well, clocking a time of 20:17 over the 4km and finishing in 2nd place.
While Cullen and Olan were rowing in the double, John Harrington was also on the water for the Masters Men C1x. John rowed a time of 9:16 over the 2km course and was the 2nd boat across the finish line but was the fastest Masters 40 boat.
Barry Hooper and Mark O'Brien were out in the Open Men C2x, which was rowed on the 4km course. They performed well in what was their first race together in the double and had a time of 21:31 to finish in 4th place.
Lucy Harrington took to the water in the Women's J18 C1x, which was on the 2km course. Lucy rowed very well against tough competition and finished in 6th place with a time of 12:04.
Lily Hayes and Abbie Murray rowed in the Women's J16 C2x and rowed a good race across the 2km course.
Katie Hayes represented the club in the Women's Open C1x where she put on a fine display of rowing in her first competitive race in the single. Katie clocked a time of 26:50 across the 4km course and finished in 5th place.
Lily Hayes, Abbie Murray, Sally McAuley and Lucy Harrington were coxed by Rachel Collins in the Women's J16C4x+ where they rowed a great race finishing in 4th place with a time of 10:23 on the 2km course.
Katie Hayes and Mary Anne McCarthy rowed in the Open Women's C2x which was their first time competing in this category together. They rowed well and finished in third place with a time of 22:38 across 4km.
Cousins John Harrington and Aisling Feen took to the water in the Masters Mixed C2x. Claiming victory in this race with a time of 8:50 across 2km, John and Aisling crossed the finish line almost a minute before their nearest competitors.
Olan Brazier Scannell rowed in the Men's J18 C1x which was run off on the 2km course. Unfortunately official timings for this race are unavailable at the time of writing but what we know for sure is that Olan claimed a great victory in this category.
The final Galley crew to take to the water was the Open Women's C4x+. Edel O'Donovan, Mary Anne McCarthy, Ciara Rahilly and Aisling Feen were coxed by Mike Feen in this 4km race where they recorded a time of 19:55 to finish in 3rd place.
Our thanks to everyone who loaded and unloaded the boats and to everyone who helped on Dinish Island. Thanks also to our hosts Castletownbere Rowing Club 2025 for a great day.
