The pupils in Farnham NS had great fun last week during a Tennis taster session. 🎾

They were lucky enough to get a break from the rain and enjoy a fun-filled outdoor session with a qualified Instructor. 👏

The pupils loved it and everyone got involved and gave it their all. 🫶

Brilliant to see so many taking part in this, hopefully we will see some of these little stars on our courts in the future!🌟

🚹Men's Health Week 2026🚹

Our Walking for All officer Gemma caught up with the Cornafean 'Men on the Move' walking group as they stepped it out on Tuesday. Here's what they had to say:

"The walk helps me sleep better”
“Walking improves my balance and keeps me active."
"It's great exercise and helps me maintain my health."
"You come home feeling better and you've caught up on all the news, and all the craic!"

Why we walk:
💙 Better sleep
💙 Better balance
💙 Better physical health
💙 Fresh air and exercise
💙 Friendship and connection
💙 Good conversation and plenty of craic

Men's Health Week
Walk. Talk. Connect. Stay Well.

Some lovely photos of the children that took part in a recent Swim programme in conjunction with Cavan Traveller Movement.

This ESF-funded swimming programme took place in Bailieborough Leisure Centre and provided a fun, inclusive and supportive environment to build water confidence and essential skills. 🌊👏

Through the programme some children have progressed up to Level 3, while others moved up from level 1 to 2. The programme offered participants the opportunity to develop their swimming ability and enjoy physical activity.

A big thank you to everyone involved—from coaches to families—for helping create such a positive and welcoming experience for all.

Organising Outdoor Activity Events 16/06/2026

Fáilte Ireland, and Comhairle na Tuaithe, have developed Outdoor Activity Events Guidelines and a newly developed online training module designed to support the safe and effective planning and delivery of outdoor events.

These guidelines form part of the National Outdoor Recreation Strategy and are intended to provide practical direction on best practice, safety considerations, and operational planning for outdoor activity events across Ireland.

To further support stakeholders, Fáilte Ireland has also launched a dedicated online training module, which is now available here: https://supports.failteireland.ie/courses/organising-outdoor-activity-events/

The module covers key aspects of event organisation and complements the guidelines, helping ensure a consistent and high standard across the sector.

Accessing the training:
You will need to create a free account on the Fáilte Ireland Supports Portal before accessing the course.
Once registered, you can complete the module at your own pace.

We encourage you to review both the guidelines and the training modules if you are running events in the outdoors as they provide useful, practical support for planning and delivering outdoor events.
