"Hello Darkness my old friend"
We all hold darkness.
We may call it anger, aggression, hate.
Some of us try to suppress it but this only causes us more pain.
We may have had little choice growing up if our parents couldn't hold space for that.
I have learned to feel it, express it ( in safe places with support ideally ).
I have also learned to give it space and hold it with all the other parts of me in my heart with tenderness and love.
I welcome anger in sharing circles too and it even brings me joy to see others release it.
Great power in this opening up into vulnerability and authenticity.
Often fear and sadness lay behind and they need space too.
Maybe tears will flow.
Darkness, you are here, you are welcome, thank you. 💪
Without darkness how can there be light.
