Villa Kitty was established in March 2011 BUT our beginnings were a small section in a local dog shelter as their 'Cats and Kittens section' which I opened after I was approached to care for three tiny kittens who needed 24 hour hand feeding, in December 2009. Bali's feline population weren't getting much support back then so I ask

Little Umasa the fighter 💪
She was reported to us a few weeks ago and oh boy 😰, her condition was extremely worrying! One of her eyes was badly infected and protruding PLUS she tested positive for the feline parvovirus. We honestly didn’t think she would respond to treatment… but we were so wrong!
Umasa has been in the care of Sunset Vet for weeks and has just recently tested negative for parvovirus and started to perk up 💚. She’s walking around and eating, and will soon be able to get the surgery she needs for her damaged eye.
We’ll continue to pay for her care until she’s able to come to Villa Kitty, but we’d be so grateful for anything you can send our way 👉 https://www.villakitty.com/donate - Thank you 💚

A couple of weeks ago, we welcomed two litters of kittens into the world - one here at Villa Kitty and one at Sunset Vet.
The second mum, Ibu Ryuzu, was rescued by a long-time supporter when she was already heavily pregnant. Sadly, she was suffering from cat flu and needed immediate treatment, so we transferred her to Sunset Vet. And that's where she gave birth.
Thankfully, her kittens arrived safely and healthy. Heartbreakingly, one little one didn't make it, but the rest, six little ones are thriving. 💔 Since giving birth, Ibu Ryuzu has remained at Sunset Vet, receiving nebulising treatment while continuing to nurse and care for her babies.
Looking after Ibu Ryuzu and her kittens has not been cheap - but it is worth every single rupiah. Right now, we have 14 patients at Sunset Vet (including 4 tiny puppies!) and we urgently need your help to cover their medical bills.

Did you know that cats make the perfect house pet? Cats have the ability to both calm your nervous system and provide an immediate outlet for fun and play. While independent animals who like to explore on their own terms, they become very affectionate and protective with people they trust.
There’s no greater gift than the love of a cat 💚. Come meet our wonderful kittens and cats available for adoption and find out for yourself.

We are beyond over-full again. Kittens and mothers with kittens continue to come in - especially over the last few weeks.
What we need are foster families and adopters - oh dear and we are in need of donations! Because how else can we care for them? Demand keeps increasing but funds often don't keep up 💔 Over 800 cats, kittens, dogs and puppies in our care and we soon will be calling it a crisis, yet again.

Yes… it’s been another one of those weekends. 💔
In just two days, we received 18 new arrivals, plus another 6 kittens at Sunset Vet Kuta. How are we supposed to cope? We only share a fraction of the animals coming through our doors because it would be impossible to show them all.
Among the newest arrivals are little Urambo, Urmila and Umbi. Their rescuer found them in Kesiman, Denpasar, after local residents had reportedly beaten them. They were terribly sick, frightened, and one had a painful leg injury. The rescuer contacted us immediately and we asked for them to be brought straight to Villa Kitty.
Our vets confirmed that one kitten had a leg injury, and heartbreakingly, all three tested positive for the deadly feline panleukopenia virus. They are now in our isolation hospital receiving intensive treatment and round-the-clock care from our dedicated staff.
The needless suffering has to end.
Please help us continue fighting for kittens like Urambo, Urmila and Umbi 👉 https://www.villakitty.com/donate

😍 Story of the Month 😍
Little Salazar was first heard crying for help on a Wednesday night in early May. His rescuers desperately wanted to reach him, but the landowners warned them not to enter the forest because of snakes. They promised they’d check again at sunrise.
But by morning, Salazar was nowhere to be seen.
Then, later that night, his tiny cries could be heard once more… and it was clear something had to be done. One of the rescuers wrapped himself in jackets and boots and ventured into the forest, but still couldn’t safely reach the kitten.
That’s when they called the fire brigade, and without hesitation, they rushed to help. 💚 True kindness. True compassion. True community spirit.
Today, little Salazar is safe in our Nursery and doing wonderfully. Now all he needs is a loving foster family!
🙌 Please share this post far and wide and message us if you’d like to come meet him.

Some of our arrivals this past week! 😱 Abandoned, sick, injured, pregnant and about to give birth on the streets… It’s incredibly hard to manage a cat shelter housing 750 cats and kittens, 61 dogs and puppies PLUS incoming patients at external clinics, but there is no other option.
We are so grateful for rescuers who can foster and for adopters who help us keep the number of residents under control, but it never seems to be enough.
We need ALL the help we can get

Bonded cats share more than just a bed… they share comfort, safety and love 💓
After everything they’ve been through on the streets, some of our rescue cats seek safety in one another - clinging to one another for reassurance, grooming each other, sleeping paw in paw, and helping each other feel brave again.
Separating them is heartbreaking, which is why we always hope bonded pairs can find a home together. Double the purrs, double the cuddles, and a friendship that’s truly special 🐾

A story that gives us hope for a brighter future for Bali’s feline citizens 💚
Little Quilo was just 3 months old when he was found alone in a market - starving, frightened, and unable to open his mouth to eat.
At Sunset Vet, vets discovered that his jaw had been dislocated. They tried several times to reposition it, but heartbreakingly, the damage was permanent. Despite their best efforts, Quilo’s jaw could never be fully repaired. But Quilo had no intention of giving up 💪.
Even though he can’t completely close his mouth, this brave little boy continued to eat, drink, and enjoy life, proving he could still have a happy future ahead of him.
We were preparing to welcome Quilo as one of our permanent residents when we received the best phone call… his rescuers had decided to adopt him!
Today, Quilo is thriving with his loving new family, and we couldn’t be happier for him.
Stories like Quilo’s are only possible because of your support.👉 Help us continue saving lives: https://www.villakitty.com/donate
