Grateful to be part of a beautiful workshop for International Yoga Day in Mumbai, India. 🌿
led an incredible session on yoga philosophy, breathwork, and movement — I had the honor of supporting with sound healing and sharing a short talk on mindset.
I also introduced a simple somatic tool to help lower stress and reconnect with the body.

Had an absolute blast joining today on his podcast . For the first time, I opened up about my full journey—the highs, the lows, the pivots, and the stories that shaped who I am today.

We also dove deep into the power of reinvention—how I’ve navigated major life and career shifts, and how I now help my clients do the same. Whether it’s in their business or personal life, I guide them in identifying and removing the hidden blocks that keep them from reaching that next level of success.

Can’t wait for you all to hear this one when it comes out —it’s raw, real, and packed with insights.

Vietnam, 2017: The Bagel That Broke My Foot (and Changed Everything)

Ever had your life completely derailed… by a bagel?

If you’ve known me over the years, maybe you know me as a mindset + business coach.
Or from my teaching days in Vietnam.
Or maybe from those three wild years in India… acting in Bollywood.
Or—

You have no idea who I am and somehow ended up on my page because the algorithm dragged you here. (Hey🙌)

Let me take you back to where it all shifted.

I was living in Hanoi.
Life was good.
I’d just hosted a TEDx event, was doing corporate trainings, and had a travel show on local TV.

One morning, I hop on my scooter to grab a bagel.
(Because I’m from Jersey — and bagels are sacred.)
I turn a corner.
Hit some sand.
Skid out.
Crash.

I break my foot.
Not doing something epic.
Not hiking a volcano.
Just… a bagel run.

And that crash?
Wasn’t my first plot twist.

👉 In NYC, doing great at Yelp — then out of nowhere, diagnosed with an autoimmune disease.
👉 In Vietnam, building momentum — then boom: broken foot.
👉 In India, coaching and acting — then the pandemic hits. I get evacuated.

Every time I thought I was leveling up, life pulled the rug.

At first, I saw those moments as setbacks.
Now I see them as checkpoints.
Invitations to slow down and ask:
What’s actually in my control?
And what am I going to do about it?

That shift changed everything — for me and in my work coaching clients.

Because here’s what I’ve learned:
It’s not always rock bottom that creates change.
Sometimes it’s a quiet nudge — a feeling you’ve outgrown the current version of your life.
It doesn’t always show up as a crisis.
Sometimes it’s boredom.
Restlessness.
That low-key voice asking, “Is this it?”

That voice matters.
That voice deserves your attention.

You don’t need a breakdown to have a breakthrough.
Sometimes growth looks like choosing to pivot before you’re forced to.
And sometimes…
It takes a bagel to remind you of that.

📍Vietnam, 2015.
I had less than $1,000 in my bank account.
No job. No plan. No clue what I was doing.........

Recently, I got invited to speak at an event in Bali.
I shared about how my two years in Vietnam ended… because of a bagel.
(More on that later.)

But before the bagel, here’s how it all started: 👇

I dressed up as Santa Claus. 🎅
Why? Because it paid $200 — and I desperately needed it.

That $200 gig turned into a teaching job.
That teaching job turned into a public speaking class.
That class led to me organizing workshops,
which eventually led to co-organizing the biggest TEDx event in Hanoi —
and coaching the speakers to deliver talks that mattered.

And that experience?
It became the unexpected launchpad for my coaching career.

All because I said yes to a job in a hot Santa suit in Hanoi.

🔁 Life rarely unfolds how we expect it to.
The path isn’t always clear when you start — but it gets clearer when you move.

So if you’re waiting to feel “ready” before you leap… this is your sign.
You don’t need a 10-year plan.
You just need one bold step.

What if it’s not failure you’re afraid of… but success?

In our session, Tom admitted he was struggling with consistency. But the real block?
He feared that success would cost him his freedom.

Here’s what we uncovered:
• He was swinging between extremes — all-in or totally checked out.
• Deep down, he didn’t feel worthy of the next level.
• His identity still saw him as inconsistent — and our actions always match our identity.
• Work started to feel like a cage, not a choice.

Through coaching and visualization, he shifted his mindset:
Work can be a path to freedom — not something that takes it away.

The key wasn’t more discipline. It was a new perspective.

The inner critic is LOUD when you’re about to level up.

It says things like:
• “Who do you think you are to charge that much?”
• “You’re not ready yet, just tweak it a little more…”
• “Everyone’s already doing this, why would anyone pick you?”

Sound familiar?

Entrepreneurship isn’t just about building a business.
It’s about managing the voice in your head that tries to talk you out of taking action.

And the truth is?
That voice never fully goes away.

But you can learn how to quiet it down, so it doesn’t run the show.

Imagine where you’d be if you took action every time the critic said “you’re not ready.”

Probably a lot further than you are now, right?

The ones who win aren’t the ones who never hear the critic—
They’re the ones who stop listening.
