This is Kali Waterfall! One of the destinations for our Minahasa Highlands Tour!

Kali Waterfall is named after the village nearby. Featuring a large double waterfall within a valley, surrounded by lush undisturbed forests.

Starting at Kali village, it’s a 1km (15 minutes on normal walking speed) hike to get to the Waterfall. There’s an stone path that leads to the Waterfall, albeit quite overgrown. We recommend using hiking shoes with decent grip as the path can be quite slippery.

With special thanks to Pak Arnold (Also known as Om Sendu) who brought us to the Waterfall, during our tour!

Photos featuring in order:
1. The overgrown bridge overlooking Kali Waterfall
2. Kali Waterfall and a low ground rainbow
3. Kali Waterfall from up close
4. A resting area on the path to the Waterfall
5. The trail leading to Kali Waterfall
6. Stone steps leading to Kali Waterfall
7. Kali's forest valley

This is Tangkoko National Park! One of the most beautiful forested land on North Sulawesi! Sometimes also referred to as the Tangkoko Nature Reserve. Tangkoko is one of the oldest nature reserves in Indonesia being established in 1919, and was once researched by Alfred Russel Wallace in 1859.

The animal density and biodiversity is quite incredible, as such there’s been quite a lot of research taken place here over the many decades. Most of the wildlife found at Tangkoko are endemic to Sulawesi.
Here you can see:
- Celebes Crested Macaques
- Spectral Tarsiers
- Sulawesi Bear Cuscus
-Rare & Endemic birds such as the: Knobbed Hornbill, Great-Billed Kingfisher, Green-backed Kingfisher, White-Necked Myna, Red-Backed Thrush, Sulawesi Scops Owl.

Tangkoko has a strict no wildlife feeding rule enforced by the Park rangers & Local guides. Thanks to this the wildlife including the Macaques behave naturally!
To enter Tangkoko National Park there is an Entrance Fee and Guide Fee, as the guides accompanying the visitors are also there to prevent littering and feeding.

Photos taken during Divers Lodge Lembeh's tour of Tangkoko! With thanks to the local guides Renny, Kalarche, Ino and Stance.
