Meet Goniobranchus reticulatus. 🍄🐌
Looks like a mushroom.
Acts like a tank.
Eats sponges.
Doesn’t care what you think 😉

Most divers look for creatures. Lately I’ve been looking for textures. Under UV light, the reef transforms into an endless collection of patterns, shapes and details that are almost impossible to notice during the day.

It’s Friday.
Time for Pikachu to leave the Poké Ball and hit the town.
Well
 “town” might be a stretch.
In reality, Thecacera pacifica spends its nights cruising volcanic sand and hunting bryozoans - tiny colonial animals that most divers never even notice.
Despite becoming one of the world’s most famous nudibranchs, it rarely grows beyond 3cm.
Bright yellow. Covered in black spots. Impossible to ignore.

Ultraviolet light doesn’t create these colors. It exposes the ones we were never meant to see. Underwater photography with ultraviolet light is an endless source of art and creativity. You can’t even imagine what it looks like in large format.

Some waves are meant to be surfed.
Others are meant to be felt.

Tambja morosa (The gloomy tambja)
Looks like the ocean designed its own gothic dragon slug.
Velvet blue body, black horns, silent movement through volcanic sand. Somehow cute. Somehow terrifying.
