Ngurah and Kadek, our bamboo artisans settling into a rhythm at - Trimming thin strips of bamboo, testing a curve, holding it up to the light, shaping a joint that will guide the whole structure.

A hand on the smooth wooden handle of an antique door, softened by years of use. A copper bathtub holds the warmth. A rug underfoot grounds us in place. Stones are arranged with care, solid and balanced, showing how things are made.

We listen to the land. It’s a challenge. How can we make space for people in nature in a way that feels responsible?

As a home nears completion the the details start to emerge through the construction dust, small things find their form.

Sebastian our BIM Manager and Christian our Junior Architect exploring form through a bamboo maquette before it meets the digital.

Every door frames the rooms’ question: enclosed, how expansive? Rush right through, or take a moment to breathe? Each door handle is the first touch, and the hinge a responsive motion.

What is this door here to do?
To invite, to conceal, or reveal?
