During the virtual study tour, we will present:
- we will tour and virtually visit the schools in Italy we will step in May
- briefly reflect on themes such as the Open Group Approach, environment as third educator and the educational use of recycled and reclaimed materials, especially in reggio inspired schools.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, meet other participants, and contribute by voting for specific seminars and workshops they would like to see included in the program.

If for animals practicing hunting is training for survival,
could symbolic play be a rehearsal for future identities?
In this video, a child is getting dressed.
She chooses. She puts something on. She begins to move differently.
Her posture shifts. Her gaze changes.
She is not just “playing.”
She is trying on possibilities.
When a child dresses up:
Is she imitating?
Is she exploring?
Is she becoming?
Is dressing up just play…
or is it identity rehearsal?
Does the way I move influence how I feel?
Does the way I feel influence who I believe I am?
Who do I become when I wear something that makes me feel powerful? Gentle? Older? Invisible?
In symbolic play, children are not simply copying the adult world.
They are negotiating their place within it.
The time we have at school give us the luxury to observe in which ways children are experimenting with identities. Is this the beginning of the development of empathy? Is this the road to learn to comprehend what is the not-me? From a project of the children of related to symbolic play and “being in the shoes of someone else”

🪷We begin our first day of our 5 days of retreat with intention.

During our March Retreat, our Balinese teacher, Dwi will guide a morning meditation and breathing practice — the same ritual we integrate daily in our learning environment.

🍃This is not simply a wellness activity.
It reflects how we have thoughtfully tailored our Reggio Emilia-inspired approach into our own curriculum — intertwining Balinese cultures through meaningful daily routines.

🌸In Bloom Boutique Atelier, we begin with yoga and breathing exercises. Not as an addition, but as a foundation. Regulation before exploration. Presence before inquiry.

🕊️During the retreat, participants will experience this practice firsthand and learn how we intentionally embed it into the rhythm of the day.

Because curriculum is not only what we teach.
It is how we live it.

A Holiday Camp for children aged 5–7

Every child arrives with their own way of seeing the world.
Through Through My Eyes, they were invited to pause, observe, imagine, and express without comparison, without limits.

In moments of play, creation, and reflection, creativity met perception, and confidence slowly took shape.

This wasn’t just a camp.

It was a space where children learned that their perspective matters, and their voice is worth sharing.

An invitation to pause, reflect, and reconnect.

For five days in Bali, we gather with educators from around the world to explore:
– seminars and hands-on ateliers
– school visits and classroom observations
– mindfulness and spiritual practices
– community, dialogue, and shared reflection.

This retreat is designed to support your daily classroom life grounding theory into practice with care and intention.
