Most of what we teach starts the same way: sit, quiet the mind, let breath slow the chatter. That works for some bodies. Others are rajasic by nature, fire-driven, built for motion, and stillness first just adds frustration on top of the noise already there.

Capoeira meets that body differently. Born in Brazil, disguised as a game so a fighting art could survive being watched. The body never stops moving, and the discipline lives inside that motion instead of before it.

If everything here is Sanskrit, incense, slow movement, and people sitting quietly contemplating their dosha, the place gets self-referential fast.

Capoeira says: move, react, play, sweat, get out of your head.

Which is exactly what Ayurveda means by health. Not endless self-observation but a body that works.

We started this patch as paddy field. Years of rice pulled the same nutrients from the same soil, and by the last few harvests you could see it in the yield.

Before planting anything else, we put peanut in. It's a legume, it fixes nitrogen, and that's what the soil needed back after years of the same crop. Ayurveda talks a lot about balance, but here it's not a metaphor. It's rotation. Give the land something different to work with before you ask it for more.

Three months in, first harvest is in. Small, but it's proof the ground is responding.

Employee 001 has been on pest control duty the whole time, unpaid, unbothered.

This is the long version of Ayurvedic farming for us. Not a wellness idea, an actual practice: reading what the land has been doing, and adjusting before it burns out.

The body remembers what the mind forgets. Every posture, every breath held or released, is a record of how we move through effort and rest.

Shakti Path is a training ground for that relationship. Structured strength work, mobility practice, and breathwork, built for athletes who want performance without sacrificing recovery.

Happy Guru Purnima

Our humble pranams to all our Gurus, the sacred Guru Parampara, and to the eternal Sat-Chit-Ananda.

Today is a day of gratitude. A day to remember those who have removed the darkness of ignorance and shown us the path towards Truth.

A Guru is not a profession, just as teaching is a profession. A true Guru is not simply a scholar or an educated person who shares knowledge. A Guru is a realised being who has awakened to the highest truth. Through that realization, the Guru naturally draws sincere seekers, not through words alone, but through presence.

Just as the earth effortlessly attracts everything through its own gravity, a Guru attracts seekers through the power of inner realization. The Guru does not need to convince anyone. It is simply the nature of Truth to draw those who are ready.

The role of a Guru is not to fill your mind with teachings, but to awaken what already exists within you. A Guru does not create followers; a Guru awakens consciousness.

On this sacred day, let us offer our gratitude to all the masters, known and unknown, who have guided humanity through the light of wisdom.

May we always remain humble, sincere in our sadhana, and worthy of the grace of the Guru.

Om Shri Gurave Namah. 🙏

Peace, Love & Light

Om Shanti

Three years ago today, Vedic Kitchen and Nataraja Shala burned down.

People often ask how it felt.

The truth is, three years later, I feel surprisingly little about the fire itself. No anger. No sadness. No grand lessons.

What I am feeling as I wrote this post is mostly disbelief. Disbelief at how far we have come since that day.

When I look around now, I see buildings, gardens, classes, retreats, teachers, staff, guests, and a community that did not exist then. What once felt like an ending became the beginning of a much longer journey.

The fire is still part of our story, but it is no longer the whole story.

Today, I am simply grateful for everyone who helped rebuild, everyone who believed in the vision, and everyone who continues to walk this path with us.

Three years on, we keep building.

With gratitude,

– Yuli

Nataraja, the cosmic dancer, reminds us of rhythm and transformation.

For those who have practised with us, Nataraja is a familiar name, now built with wooden floors carried from our early Jakarta shala days.

Set against Bali rice fields, the shala becomes a refuge for any seeker to simply be, beneath the vastness of the sky, and away from the noise of the world.

Yoga classes are held Monday to Saturday at 9am.
Please check our schedule for current classes and offerings.
