Microcopy is the bread and butter of any application or website. Being a sub-genre of UX copies, microcopy is responsible for lead generation with its CTAs, and for making the user experience as delightful as possible with its intuitive wording on buttons, tooltips, and every little item in-between.
Localizing even the more general microcopies takes great effort, however, FIntech apps require special attention. Read our article on Medium: https://medium.com//how-to-localize-microcopies-in-fintech-8db25ff427b0 or on LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6938409211982712833 if you would like to find out more about the Fintech specific difficulties of localizing Microcopy.

Girls' Day at Exalt
“It is good to know that there is an industry out there where I can use both humanities and STEM, really.” — E., 15 years old.
This year we’ve joined the annual Girls' Day programme, where we had the opportunity to host a meet-and-greet for 14 enthusiastic young girls. Our company hosted 2 three-hour-long workshops, where the girls could participate in a round table discussion and a fun ideation process on one of our live projects.
We care about the current state and the future prospects of design in our home country. This is the reason why we have launched an incubator mentorship programme (The Exalt Excellence Programme) specifically for young designer talents. We started sourcing for this mentorship programme last year. During our six-month-long intensive incubator, we introduce selected talent to the rigours of product design internships, where they can learn the craft and the soft skills necessary for a UX designer. Our programme aims to respond to a recent designer shortage in the market.
We also wanted to contribute to the dissemination of the UX design profession in Hungary, as UX design is a very recent profession with very high market relevance. Still, it is not well known even among highly educated youth. Therefore, our mentors decided to create an opportunity for young people in secondary schools where they can get introduced to this rapidly growing industry.
We contacted the wonderful organisers of Girls' Day early last year, and our team was very enthusiastic about joining this event.
During our open office hours, we addressed a lot of key questions that even helped us broaden our own perspectives. The girls were curious about a great number of things: the effectiveness of an agile way of work setting, the dilemma on the ratio of designers to programmers, the relevance of user-centred-design and how important it actually is to have a positive dynamic between the staff to execute design sprints on time.
Probably our favourite part of the three-hour workshop was demoing one of our ideation methods. To really showcase a UX design ideation process, we worked with a live project of ours. The ideas that came in were surprisingly creative, so much so that we often saw our designers enthusiastically typing up all that had come up during the workshop.
We're delighted that so many people came to our company's open day and that we were able to showcase a new sort of industry that mends the bridge between IT and humanities to those who were interested. We do hope that the girls went home with as many good and fruitful memories as we did and that we will have the opportunity to hold workshops just like this one in the future as well.

In past decades, Human Factor Engineering and Ergonomics have become fields for research in biochemistry as well as in psychology. Future technologies, such as commercial space travel, will need to adhere to very specific guidelines to reduce the human error factor.
In our article, we will share our insights on what the hindering aspects and the ideal solutions of this new industry could be for UX designers:

This year we wanted to find something more tangible that could help us make a home office party livelier.
GatherTown seemed like the perfect solution. A virtual reality platform where our office could be recreated to the pixel?
Needless to say, even our organisers enjoyed themselves while playing pseudo sims, making sure that every gingerbread was perfectly placed on the tables and no garland glitched out on the walls.
The result? A remote party which none of us will forget anytime soon.

design has become indispensable in the
past years, as various stores and services migrated
their content to online platforms. While certainly good
news for the discipline of , most service
providers experience the challenge of finding quality
designers. As the number of commissions grows, the
number of quality-controlled designers become less
and less.
To answer this sudden surge, design studios began
flooding the job market, looking for seniors, completely
ignoring the applications of entry-level candidates:
playing hot potato with juniors until they magically
transform into full-fledged designers. Instead of
following the industry trends in syphoning seniors, we
decided to shift gears and invest in upcoming .
To meet the business needs of companies who prefer
quality work, we choose our mentees based on how
fresh their point of view is in design. Paired with our
carefully crafted of our incubator program,
we expect a lot from them in the future.
The three core items of the Excellence Program:
: Our mentees are trained under super
seniors with 10+ years of experience. The first step is
to achieve a paradigm shift where, rather than
constructing products based on either an inductive or
a deductive thought process, they begin seeing
problems in an abductive way.
skills: The constant feedback and quick pace of
our program create an environment where mentees are
inherently trained in soft skills, working in
teams and collaborating with their peers and their
superiors alike.
: To achieve both high-quality craftmanship
and an analytical mindset we have created a
practice-based framework that has our mentees
exercise their talents in live projects right from the
get-go.
All in all, this incubator project is an investment with
some risk for us, but nurturing talents has been a
Strength in our SWOT for years. We have the skills, the
mentors the experience and the confidence of making
this happen, and creating lasting value.
