The Laboratory of Parallel and Distributed Systems (LPDS) is part of the Institute for Computer Science and Control of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA SZTAKI). LPDS has several years of experience in grid research field - it is a founding member of the Hungarian Grid Competence Centre and the Hungarian National Grid Initiative, and coordinates several European Grid projects in the 7th Frame

The CloudBroker platform, as the output of the SCI-BUS project has been ranked as no. 1 regarding its innovation potential by the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission.
The SCI-BUS project led by Prof. Péter Kacsuk aimed to make the research activities of e-Scientists easier by creating a new way to customise science gateways based on the generic-purpose gUSE/ WS-PGRADE portal family.
