School started a little later than usual this year. Nevertheless, the students didn't waste any time getting back into the swing of things, learning the differences between "a", "an" and "the". Next week, this all ties in with their favourite topic; British History! We cannot wait :)
From both of us here at Going Native, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!
We will be back in January 2023 providing more quality and tailored teaching to our students.

The final day of the 2022 camp series ended yesterday with the detectives of Budapest diving head-first into science. Throughout the week we have escaped from rooms, worked on teamwork and even squeezed in some baking. Thank you for everyone who joined us over the past 4 weeks. We had a great time and hope you all did too! We hope to see you all again soon.

Today we started the last week of our summer camps with, arguably, the most exciting theme; detectives! The children learnt about the different skills and characteristics that make a detective great and we see some in them already. Outside, we all played some team building games where Chuck the Chicken was in need of rescue! They also made and played the game Cluedo. Turns out a cactus can be pretty deadly when used as a weapon 🌵

We've all been playing, singing and making lots over the last 2 days. Yesterday saw us stop in Egypt where we looked at the ancient Egyptians and Nile crocodiles! Today we went on safari and saw lots of interesting and different animals. The children also learnt another African game called "nyama nyama nyama" involving jumping and African animals. Tomorrow is the last day so we'll take a special trip to the zoo to see the lion king and all of his friends!

What a start to Africa camp it has been! The children have been introduced to Africa and what makes this continent so unique. They learnt a Ghanaian song "Che Che Kule" and now know some African animals too thanks to the Lion King story. Outside, we played lots of fun games where everyone was thoroughly involved; of course these games included lions and antelope 🦁

It's been a fabulous last 2 days on our cooking adventure. The children explored the cuisines from France and England. They were able to elegantly decorate in Paris as well as create galette, a lemon infused "french pizza". And from London we sampled the finest cakes and scones, served up for afternoon tea. Thank you to everyone who came. We are looking forward to our next camp starting Monday!

Over the past 2 days we've been to NYC and Bangkok on our cooking adventure. The children have been cooking cheesecake and bagels in New York and learning about homemade noodles and bubble tea in Bangkok. There has been some tasty food made by everyone and we are looking forward to our Paris trip tomorrow. I wonder what will be made...

Today was the start of a new camp theme: cooking around the world. We welcomed the little chefs for a day in Israel. They learnt about the country and of course the food and spices. We tasted some za'atar and sumac, popular flavourings from the region, and made an Israeli salad!

Today, the children explored the different types of dinosaurs at camp. We learnt the differences between the t-rex and stegosaurus and what makes some dinosaurs special. Outside, we raced as different dinosaurs! And when we came back, a dinosaur was in our fridge trying to eat our snacks 😱
