Salona is one of the easiest and most affordable day trips from Split.
It’s located in Solin, just around 10 minutes away, so it’s a great option when you want to see something different without spending the whole day travelling.
The site is peaceful, spacious, and easy to explore at your own pace. You can walk through the remains of the old Roman city, including the amphitheatre, basilicas, city walls, and ancient stone paths.
It’s much quieter than Split’s old town, which makes it a nice break from the crowds.
Visit in the morning or late afternoon, especially in summer. Bring water, wear comfortable shoes, and give yourself time to wander.
