Types of Calculus notation

Augustin-Louis Cauchy (1789–1857) was a French mathematician known for his major contributions to calculus and mathematical analysis. He was born in Paris shortly after the French Revolution and studied at the École Polytechnique.

Cauchy introduced rigorous definitions of limits, continuity, and convergence, helping to make calculus more precise. Many important concepts are named after him, such as Cauchy sequences and Cauchy’s theorem.
