EPISODE 6 Muharram: The Sacred Month Forgotten
How Should Ashura Be Fasted?

Ashura is approaching.

But are we fasting it the way the Prophet ﷺ taught?

Should we fast only the 10th of Muharram?

Should we fast the 9th and the 10th?

Should we fast three days?

And what exactly did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intend when he said:

"If I live until next year, I will surely fast the ninth."

(Sahih Muslim)

How did the Sahabah understand this statement?

How did the scholars of Islam explain it?

And what is the most complete way to observe Ashura according to the Sunnah?

Join us for Episode 6 as we explore the authentic guidance of the Prophet ﷺ regarding the fasting of Ashura.
Because loving the Sunnah is not merely praising it.

It is learning it.

Following it.

And striving to practice it correctly.

EPISODE 5 - Muharram: The Sacred Month Forgotten
The Reward of Fasting Ashura

What reward did the Prophet ﷺ promise for fasting the Day of Ashura?

Can a single day of fasting really become a means of forgiveness?

And what exactly did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mean when he said:

"I hope from Allah that it will expiate the sins of the previous year."

(Sahih Muslim)

Pause and think about that.

One day of fasting.

One day spent seeking the pleasure of Allah.

And the possibility of an entire year's worth of minor sins being forgiven by His mercy.

What does this hadith actually mean?

What sins are forgiven?

Do major sins require something more?

And how did the scholars, the Sahabah, and the righteous generations understand this tremendous opportunity?

Join us for Episode 5 as we explore one of the greatest gifts Allah has granted this Ummah.

Because Ashura is not merely a day of fasting.

It is a day of mercy.

A day of forgiveness.

A day of opportunity.

And perhaps a day that could change your standing with Allah forever.

The Hijab Series EP 8 - "The Struggle of Obedience - When Wearing Hijab Is Difficult" 22/06/2026

The Hijab Series — Episode 8
The Struggle of Obedience - When Wearing Hijab Is Difficult

What happens when a sister believes that hijab is a command from Allah... but finds it difficult to wear?

What happens when the struggle comes from family, society, work, fear, or uncertainty?

Does difficulty change the command?

Or does it reveal the sincerity of the believer?

In Episode 8 of The Hijab Series, we explore one of the most personal and emotional realities faced by many Muslim women today: the struggle of obedience.

Through the guidance of the Qur'an, the example of the righteous women who came before us, and the principles of tawakkul and perseverance, we examine how a believer responds when the path of obedience becomes difficult.

Because faith is not proven when obedience is easy.

Faith is proven when obedience remains the goal despite the struggle.

Join us as we discuss the difference between hardship and inability, struggle and rejection, and why the believer never measures a command by its difficulty, but by the One who commanded it.

What is Ashura?
Why did the Prophet ﷺ fast it?
And what does it have to do with Prophet Musa عليه السلام?
Journey back to one of the most powerful moments in human history.

A sea standing before a believing people.
A tyrant and his army closing in behind them.
No visible escape.
No visible solution.
Yet Musa عليه السلام stood with complete certainty and declared: "No! Indeed, my Lord is with me; He will guide me."
(Surah Ash-Shu'ara 26:62)

How did Allah save Musa and the believers?
Why did the Prophet ﷺ say: "We have more right to Musa than you."
And what lessons does the story of Ashura teach us about Tawhid, gratitude, trust in Allah, and the ultimate victory of truth over falsehood?

Join us for Episode 4 as we uncover the origin of Ashura through the Qur'an, the authentic Sunnah, and the understanding of the early generations.

Because Ashura is more than a day of fasting.

EPISODE 3 - Muharram: The Sacred Month Forgotten

Muharram marks the beginning of the Islamic year.

But did the Prophet ﷺ ever celebrate the Islamic New Year?

Did he encourage special gatherings?

Did he prescribe specific acts of worship for the first day of Muharram?

If not, where did the Islamic calendar come from?

Why did the Sahabah choose the Hijrah as the event from which Muslims would measure time?

And what lessons does the Hijrah still teach us today?

Join us in Episode 3 as we explore:

The origin of the Hijri calendar.
The decision of Umar ibn al-Khattab رضي الله عنه and the Sahabah.
Why the Hijrah became the defining event of Islamic history.
The sacrifice and trust in Allah demonstrated by the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه.
The meaning of true Hijrah in our lives today.

Because the greatest migration is not merely from one place to another.

It is the migration from sin to repentance.

From heedlessness to remembrance.

From distance from Allah to closeness to Allah.

Muharram: The Beginning of a New Islamic Year

All praise belongs to Allah Who has granted us life another opportunity.

As we enter the blessed month of Muharram, we welcome not only the beginning of a new Islamic year but one of the most sacred months that Allah has chosen and honored.

Allah says in Qur'an 9:36 "Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve months in the register of Allah from the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred. That is the correct religion, so do not wrong yourselves during them."

Muharram is one of these four sacred months. It is a month in which the believer should increase in obedience, repentance, remembrance of Allah, recitation of the Qur'an, and righteous deeds.

The Prophet ﷺ said as reported in Sahih Muslim "The best fasting after Ramadan is fasting in Allah's month of Muharram."

Notice how the Prophet ﷺ referred to it as "Allah's month." This special attribution highlights its virtue and status.

Among the greatest days of Muharram is the Day of Ashura (10th Muharram). The Prophet ﷺ informed us that fasting this day carries a tremendous reward:

A report in Sahih Muslim he ﷺ said;"I hope from Allah that fasting the Day of Ashura will expiate the sins of the previous year."

In another report in Sahih Muslim and Bukhari; When the Prophet ﷺ learned that the Jews fasted this day in gratitude for Allah saving Prophet Musa (Moses) عليه السلام and the Children of Israel from Pharaoh, he said:

"We have more right to Musa than they do."

For this reason, Muslims are encouraged to fast Ashura and to differ from the Jews by fasting the 9th and 10th, or the 10th and 11th of Muharram.

As we begin this new year, let us take account of ourselves before we are taken to account. Let us renew our sincerity, strengthen our connection with the Qur'an, improve our prayers, abandon our sins, and increase in gratitude to Allah.

A new Islamic year is not merely the turning of a calendar page. It is a reminder that our lives are moving closer to our meeting with Allah.

May Allah allow us to witness this blessed month, benefit from its rewards, and make this year a year of guidance, righteousness, knowledge, and steadfastness upon the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah.

1448 AH Mubarak to the Muslim Ummah worldwide.
