SSYDR Inc. “Specialists in Sustained Youth Development and Research” created to mobilize, train and prepare youth for economic and social development.

In 2011 Education Development Center conducted a Youth Assessment in Guyana and found that youth experiences and situations fostered their lack of development. Hence the Skills and Knowledge for Youth Employment Project was designed with the aim of ensuring crime reduction through the establishing of livelihood opportunities for youth in Guyana. Huge congratulations to Jacqueline Jackie and Sonja Somella Edwards Sampson for being honored as two of the 25 Influential Women Leaders! As trainer/coaches with SSYDR, they shine in their roles, but their impact runs even deeper. With over 20 years each of dedicated service to their communities, their work is nothing short of inspiring. Jacqueline, at the helm of the Black Bush Community Centre, has been a beacon in su***de prevention and counseling. Meanwhile, Sonja’s leadership at the Fyrish Community Centre has empowered countless youth and women with essential skills. Paid or not, both continue to pour their hearts into the Region Six communities. Their decades-long legacy is a testament to their passion, resilience, and tireless devotion!
