Happy Emancipation Day from Women in Maritime Association Caribbean (WiMAC) Guyana Chapter Inc.
Today, we honor the resilience, courage, and enduring legacy of those whose struggle for freedom paved the way for future generations.
Emancipation Day is a time to reflect on our shared history while celebrating the rich cultural heritage, strength, and contributions of Afro-Guyanese to the development of our nation.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected.
Hoping for the safe recovery of everyone onboard as search and rescue efforts continue.

Emergency Family Assistance Centres established to
provide affected families with information, guidance, and support following the MV Barima vessel incident.

Our Afternoon Session (Ages 12–15) is designed to challenge and inspire young minds through a more advanced exploration of the maritime industry.

Participants will gain valuable insights into water safety and survival at sea, navigation and bridge operations, ports and logistics, FPSOs and offshore energy, while also developing leadership, teamwork, and respect through engaging discussions and activities.

Representing WIMAC Guyana, our President, Ms. Katina Benn, joined maritime professionals, administrators, and regional stakeholders in meaningful discussions focused on advancing collaboration, empowering leaders, and fostering more inclusive maritime administrations throughout the Caribbean.
