President Dr. Irfaan Ali this morning received the Letters of Credence from Maria Cristina Perez Gutiérrez, the Kingdom of Spain’s Non-Resident Ambassador to Guyana.
Ambassador Perez Gutiérrez is based in Trinidad and Tobago.
During brief discussions, President Ali highlighted key areas for cooperation, including agriculture and food security, oil and gas, trade expansion, and the strengthening of bilateral ties.

The Minister of Health, Honourable Dr Frank Anthony yesterday met with several medical service providers to discuss the rollout of the Government of Guyana’s Voucher Programmes.
At the meeting, the Minister announced that aside from the eye testing, spectacles and cervical cancer vouchers, the Ministry will roll out the health screening voucher valued at $10,000 for all Guyanese.
Joining yesterday’s meeting was also the Permanent Secretary Malcolm Watkins.

The Guyana Police Force would like to refute a media report yesterday (Sunday) which insinuated that "clandestine moves are being made by the powers that be to send Assistant Commissioner of Police and Commander of Region Five, Kurleigh Simon on administrative leave."
The GPF Administration would like to inform the media and public that there is no truth to this misleading report. Assistant Commissioner Simon remains in charge of Regional Police Division #5.

Mobile X-Ray services available in Reg. 9 for the first time
For the first time, Mobile X-Ray services are available to residents of Region Nine through the Lethem Regional Hospital.
"We are thrilled to announce that the residents of North Rupununi are the first to benefit from this incredible service," the Hospital said in a Facebook post.
The medical facility said specialist outreaches will be conducted across the region, ensuring that other villages will also have access to this vital healthcare service.
"This is a huge step forward in fulfilling the government's commitment to providing healthcare services to all citizens, breaking down barriers related to location, age, socioeconomic background, gender, or disability," the hospital concluded.
