Don’t Fight in the FLESH....
Anger, manipulation, pride, jealousy, unforgiveness, lies, and panic are not SPIRITUAL WEAPONS.

BLESSINGS FOR A NEW DAY

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” — The First Epistle of Peter 5:8

This verse shows three important truths:
1. The devil is roaming
He is not everywhere at once like God, but he actively moves, watches, and looks for open doors in people’s lives.

2. He seeks vulnerable places:
Fear, bitterness, sin, compromise, pride, unforgiveness, and spiritual laziness can become entry points for attack.
Believers are called to stay alert

3. Spiritual vigilance comes through:
Prayer
The Word of God
Obedience
Discernment
Fasting
Fellowship with strong believers

Jesus also said:
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life…” John 10:10
But Scripture also reminds believers not to live in fear. Through Christ, believers have authority and victory:
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7
And:
“Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.” — The First John 4:4
The enemy roams, but God reigns.

Come expecting a good time in the presence of the Lord

A defense strategy that anticipates the moves of our enemies can also help in our spiritual lives. And who is the enemy? 1 Peter 5 vs 8 says, " Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour". So be alert and of a sober mind....indeed we're called to " resist" our enemy, "standing firm in the faith" ( v.9).

Living in active defense leads us Believers in Jesus to be more effective in our lives and in the productive work we seek to do for His Kingdom. Then, if setbacks arise, the God of grace & mercy will restore us, make us strong, firm & steadfast in Him ( 1 Peter 5 vs 10). He's the only one who establishes us, and who builds our defense stronger - in Him.

We let down our guards by focusing on those things that are not a priority for the Kingdom of God.....and cause doors to be open and the enemy to devour our blessings and demand our attention.
1 Corinthians 16 vs 13 says, be on your guard, stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.

Be blessed and have a rested night.

Losing to Gain
Mark 8:35 says: “For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.”

At first glance, this sounds like a contradiction. How can losing your life actually save it? But here, Jesus is not speaking about physical death—He’s speaking about surrender. The natural instinct is to protect, control, and preserve our own desires, reputation, and plans. Yet Jesus challenges that mindset completely.

To “save your life” in your own strength means clinging to control—holding tightly to your will, your comfort, and your identity apart from God. But that path often leads to emptiness, anxiety, and spiritual loss. On the other hand, to “lose your life” for Christ means surrendering everything—your ambitions, your ego, your fears—and trusting Him fully.

This kind of surrender is not weakness; it is transformation. When you lay down your life before God, He gives you something greater: purpose, peace, and eternal life. What you give up cannot compare to what you gain in Him.

Today, reflect on this:
What am I still trying to hold onto? What would it look like to fully surrender that to God? Amen
