Spotlight on Young Talent: Vindhya Parboo 🌺

At just 13 years old, Vindhya Parboo, a Grade 8 student of Queen’s College, continues to inspire us with her quiet confidence and beautiful creativity.

Vindhya enchanted our Tea Party audience with her graceful dance performances to Indian renditions, moving with elegance, poise, and cultural pride. Her performance was a gentle reminder of the power of art to tell stories and connect generations.

Outside of dance, Vindhya enjoys reading and painting, nurturing both her imagination and intellect. With a heart set on service, her dream is to become a doctor, blending compassion with dedication to help others.

We are so proud to celebrate young women like Vindhya , talented, grounded, and full of promise! 🌺

The future is bright when our girls are encouraged to shine.

Guyanese Women in Development, uplifting women and girls at every stage of their journey.

Tea Party & Fashion Show Photos 😍

Earlier this month, we gathered for a delightful Tea Party and Fashion Show, celebrating the joy and elegance of the festive season together. It was truly a pleasure sharing purpose, style, and community spirit with all of you! 💃

A special highlight on Luxury Events By Anjie , who beautifully decorated the lawns of the Red House. Their festive colours and décor set the perfect ambience for the show, making the celebration even more magical.

Wishing you continued joy and happiness this Christmas, and a bright, beautiful New Year ahead! ✨❤️

Spotlight on Shanette Dey

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ms. Shanette Dey, guyanese psychologist, mental health advocate, and media presenter, for her powerful contribution to our Tea Party.

Shanette shared an insightful and deeply resonant perspective on wellness, reminding us of the importance of setting boundaries and learning to say no, a vital act of self-care, especially in a world that often demands more than we can give. Her message encouraged reflection, balance, and intentional living, and it truly enriched the experience for everyone present.

With her extensive work in youth mental health, trauma support, su***de prevention, and advocacy through initiatives like Mind est 2018 and “When Men Speak,” Shanette continues to create safe, transformative spaces for healing and growth. Her work across counselling, radio, television, and education reflects a deep commitment to mental health literacy and emotional wellbeing in Guyana.

Thank you, Ms. Dey, for sharing your voice, your wisdom with us. Guywid is truly grateful for your presence and the meaningful impact you made at our Tea Party. ❤️

Thanks a mil to Janica Sandy, of the Ultimate Image INC Inc. who generously supported our Tea Party & Fashion Show by donating one of her signature Oprava organic skincare packages. Her gift added such a thoughtful touch to our event. The package featured a hand crafted lemon & turmeric soap paired with a soap dish, a soothing turmeric and lemon exfoliating cream and nourishing body oil. Even down to the packaging was organic.

Each item is part of Oprava, Janica’s proudly Guyanese brand dedicated to creating organic, skin-care beauty products that promote self-care, confidence, and natural beauty.
