Understanding Hepatitis B
Hepatitis B is a serious viral infection that affects the liver and can lead to long-term health complications if left untreated. It can be transmitted through contact with infected blood and bodily fluids, but it is also preventable through vaccination, safer s*x practices, and regular testing.
Knowing the signs, symptoms, and ways to protect yourself is an important step toward better health. Early detection and access to care can help prevent severe liver damage and improve overall well-being.
Protect yourself. Get informed. Get tested. Get vaccinated.
Kindly be sociable and share!

Over the past month, the National AIDS Programme Secretariat (NAPS) conducted a two-week HIV/STI Counselling and Testing Training in Region Two (Suddie) for healthcare workers. The training proved to be highly impactful, equipping participants with both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to provide quality HIV/STI counselling and testing services.
Throughout the training, participants gained hands-on experience in counselling techniques, testing procedures, confidentiality, ethics, and client-centered care, strengthening their capacity to deliver these essential services within their communities.
NAPS remains committed to building the capacity of healthcare workers across Guyana and expanding access to HIV prevention, testing, and treatment services as part of the national effort to eliminate HIV as a public health threat.
