Love this! Let’s stay hungry for knowledge and always be willing to learn—there’s growth in being teachable 💕
The most dangerous place for a leader to be is at the top of a pedestal they built themselves. We often feel pressured to have every answer, to be the smartest person in the room, and to never show a flicker of doubt. But leadership isn’t about being "right"; it’s about being teachable.
True growth begins the moment you admit you don’t know everything. When you approach your team with a spirit of curiosity rather than authority, you foster an environment of psychological safety and innovation. Compassion starts with yourself—acknowledging your limitations allows you to value the diverse expertise of those around you.
Remember:
- Arrogance builds walls.
- Humility builds bridges.
Stay hungry for knowledge, stay open to correction, and never let your title outpace your willingness to learn. The best leaders aren't just great teachers; they are the most devoted students.
P.S. - No leader will have all the answers, but you do need to provide the right resources. When a leader gifts their team a roadmap for development, they aren't just giving a book—they are giving permission to grow, to fail, and to innovate. The hallmark of high-impact leadership isn't found in constant oversight; it’s found in the strategic surrender of control. When you have the right people in the right seats, your primary responsibility shifts from managing tasks to protecting their autonomy.
When leaders "get out of the way," they create a culture of psychological safety and trust. This empowerment leads to:
- Increased Innovation: Experts thrive when given the space to experiment without the fear of being micromanaged.
- Scalability: A leader who doesn't bottleneck decisions allows the organization to move at the speed of the market, not the speed of the boss.
- Engagement: Top talent stays where they are respected. Autonomy is often a greater retainer than a paycheck.
However, total hands-off leadership isn't without its pitfalls. Without occasional "north star" check-ins, independent teams may drift away from the core organizational vision, leading to strategic Misalignment. Additionally, total autonomy can sometimes feel like abandonment, leading to a lack of mentorship or support when roadblocks occur.
Getting out of the way isn't about being absent; it’s about being intentionally present without being intrusive. Provide the vision, secure the resources, and then let your people do what you hired them to do.
True leadership is knowing when to lead the charge and when to leave the room.

There are moments that call us to pause, reflect, and come together in remembrance. Workers Memorial Week, April 20–24, 2026, is one of those moments.
During this week, we honor and remember the thousands of workers who lose their lives each year due to workplace incidents, illness, and disease. We also stand in support of the families, friends, and communities forever impacted by these losses.
