Our director, Alyssa, and the founder of Hearts in Motion, Karen, came up with the idea for Music in Motion in the summer of 2013. It is through H.I.M.

Music Camp, Education 📚, & Construction Trip 2026 Recap pt 1
We are starting our recap with our awesome Education team lead by Dr. Dávila 📚 This years professional development workshops focused on promoting literacy among students. As always, these workshops are 100% collaborative between local educators, Hearts In Motion staff, and volunteers... And we always make time to play and interact with our youngest students at the Hearts In Motion learning center in Pueblo Modelo 🇬🇹

🎵📚🏠 Hearts In Motion volunteers recently delivered hope through education, music, and construction in Guatemala!
During Music Camp, our team worked with 42 students, providing hands-on music education and encouragement. We also hosted literacy-focused professional development workshops for 47 local educators and Hearts In Motion staff members, led by HIM Board Member Erica Davila. To top it off, volunteers completed a new home for a family in Pueblo Modelo, creating a lasting impact for both the family and the community.

Today one of our musician volunteers, April, worked with Elfido teaching him a new instrument 🤩 Elfido has been interested in learning more instruments to be able to teach our students and today, he was able to start working on that goal with April.
