Το ΕΛΙΒΙΠ επανεκκινεί το GreekLit

Το μεταφραστικό πρόγραμμα GreekLit, βασικός πυλώνας δράσης του ΕΛΙΒΙΠ με στόχο την ανάδειξη της δυναμικής ελληνικής βιβλιοπαραγωγής και την προώθηση των Ελλήνων δημιουργών στο εξωτερικό, επανεκκινήθηκε με την επιλογή βιβλίων για επιδότηση μετάφρασης ολόκληρου έργου και για δείγμα μετάφρασης.

Τα αποτελέσματα της επιτροπής αξιολόγησης, η οποία αποτελείται από τη μεταφράστρια Ρίτα Κολαΐτη, την ποιήτρια και μεταφράστρια Κρυστάλλη Γλυνιαδάκη και την κριτικό λογοτεχνίας και συγγραφέα Ελισάβετ Κοτζιά, έχουν αναρτηθεί στην ιστοσελίδα του ΕΛΙΒΙΠ.

Εγκρίθηκαν 40 αιτήσεις για μετάφραση ολόκληρου έργου και 23 για το δείγμα μετάφρασης.

GreekLit restarted by HFBC
Connecting Greek books to the world

The GreekLit translation programme, οne of the main pillars of HFBC, which aims to support the dynamic Greek book production and the promotion of Greek authors abroad, restarted with the selection of books for the translation of entire works and for translation sample.

The results of the evaluation committee, consisting of translator Rita Kolaiti, poet and translator Krystalli Glyniadaki, and literary critic and author Elizabeth Kotzia, have been posted on the HFBC website.

40 applications for the translation of entire works and 23 for translation samples were approved.

Αιμιλία Διαμαντοπούλου ( Emily Diamandopoulou )

Η Αιμιλία Διαμαντοπούλου είναι ελληνοσκωτσέζα μεταφράστρια με περισσότερα από 25 χρόνια εμπειρίας στον χώρο της μετάφρασης και της διερμηνείας. Είναι founder της Rhyme & Reason Language Services και της RIMA Language Tech Culture

Έχει μεταφράσει πάνω από 30 βιβλία και έχει εκδώσει επτά εξειδικευμένα αγγλοελληνικά λεξικά, ενώ επιμελείται σειρά αγγλόφωνων επιστημονικών περιοδικών.

Συμμετέχει σε ερευνητικά έργα πάνω σε τεχνολογίες μετάφρασης σε συνεργασία με ερευνητικούς φορείς της χώρας, ενώ είναι επικεφαλής της οργανωτικής επιτροπής του Language_Tech Patras 2025, ενός ετήσιου θεσμού αφιερωμένου στη μετάφραση και τις νέες τεχνολογίες.

Διδάσκει το αντικείμενο των Μεταφραστικών Τεχνολογιών στο ΚΕΔΙΒΙΜ του Πανεπιστημίου Πειραιώς και είναι μέλος της Ομάδας Εργασίας για την Τεχνητή Νοημοσύνη της Πανελλήνιας Ένωσης Μεταφραστών.

Παράλληλα, δραστηριοποιείται στην προώθηση του οικολογικού επιχειρείν και του Νέου Ευρωπαϊκού Μπάουχαους στις επιχειρήσεις του πολιτιστικού και δημιουργικού τομέα.

Daniel Webber, editor-in-chief, announcing the publication said, “In a landmark achievement, we are proud to announce publication of the first-ever English language translation of the Greek Code of Civil Procedure. While the specific code has previously been translated into French, up to now there has been no English translation. This meticulously researched work fills a significant gap in legal resources, offering non-Greeks —whether scholars, lawyers, or ordinary individuals— unparalleled access to Greece's legal civil procedure rules. Crafted with a keen eye for detail over a process of several years —let us never forget that a properly done translation takes a lot of time— the translation renders terms consistently, while also accurately reflecting the nuances and complexities of Greek legal language. For us as translators, this has taken a lot of dedication and hard work, but this is a pivotal moment.”

In his introduction to the work, Panayiotis Yiannopoulos, Assoc. Professor of Civil Procedure at Democritus University of Thrace said “one cannot but applaud the difficult task that Messrs Daniel Webber and John O’Shea undertook and executed with diligence and care, providing the legal community with an accurate and truly functional and useable translation of the Greek Code of Civil Procedure, updated even to the most recent amendments passed up to late 2023. Their work definitely fills a void in the international bibliography, particularly in the field of comparative law, not to mention the exceptional quality of the translation which successfully addresses the challenges of rendering a Greek legal text into English. In undertaking this endeavour, the authors had the foresight to make the GCCivP available for international scholars, for which the Greek legal community should be grateful”.
