Cocktail of the Day

The fiancé and I have started working on our backyard garden, and all I can think about is the great backdrop and garnish potentials 😁 While we wait for the new shrubs to flower, here’s a tasty blend of Tequila and nutty almond for a nice end-of-gardening-sesh tipple. Cheers friends! - Vibin’ in the Garden - 2 oz Blanco Tequila .75 oz Lime Juice .5 oz Orgeat .25 oz Maraschino Liqueur - Shake everything with ice. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish. . . .

WHAT THE DICKENS?
- 30ml/1oz Pineapple-infused Plantation OFTD
- 15ml/0.5oz Pierre Ferrand 1840 Cognac
- 45ml/1.5oz Pineapple Juice
- 15ml/0.5oz Lime Juice
- 15ml/0.5oz Simple Syrup
- 3 dashes Peychaud's Bitters
- 1 dash Angostura Bitters
- - - - -
HOW: Shake all with cubes / Strain over a snifter filled with crushed ice / Garnish.

Originally created by Ben Anderson at The Corner Office in Denver in 2013. The original recipe used Mount Gay Eclipse without the Pineapple infusion, yet I found a comment on Kindred cocktails of someone using Pineapple Rum and that sounded pretty neat.

Funnily, I had just been infusing some Overproof Rum with the fruit and rinds of Pineapple to see how 'Stiggins on Speed' would taste, and used it in this recipe. It came out as a real BANGER.

One alteration I made though was using slightly less simple syrup just to balance things out a bit. (originally .75 simple to .5 lime) Although whichever you prefer may depend on the sweetness of your Pineapple Juice as well.

Ah, the calm before the festive storm. This is the last weekend of The Taproom as you know it before Jingle Jangle takes over from Tuesday until January 3rd. We’ll be closed tomorrow (Monday) as we deck the halls ahead of our holiday transformation and we’ll see you on the flip side for… flips, mince pies, mistletoe and mulled merriment.
