Founded in 2018 by artist Dimitri Yin, Phoenix Athens is an art gallery and residency in central Athens.
Phoenix Athens gallery and residency was launched by artist and entrepreneur Dimitri Yin in 2018. The project provides local and international artists, researchers, writers and creative practitioners with a chance to become immersed Athenian culture and daily life. The Villa Exarchia Residency currently features 3 spaces for artists at any given time, and production facilities for painting, sculpture and drawing. Residencies typically last between 5 weeks and 2 months-depending on the aims of the resident. Key features of the residency include:
-Professional mentorship and feedback from the director and local artists
-Promotional services and networking opportunities.
-Access to sculpture and painting studios
-Guided local tours of museums, galleries and local environs
Phoenix Athens aims to provide a model for sustainable growth, multicultural exchanges and strategies of socio-economic development through art and design with an ecological twist. Most notably perhaps, it connects conceptual art with craft and practical skills by providing residents with a chance to appreciate and learn from the resourcefulness and resilience of modern Hellenic culture.

Η έκθεση «Apophenic Canard» εγκαινιάζεται την ερχόμενη Τετάρτη, 29 Ιουλίου 2026, στη Phoenix Athens με νέα γλυπτά, πίνακες και σχέδια του καλλιτέχνη Joseph Stokes (Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο).
Τα έργα που παρουσιάζονται δημιουργήθηκαν στην Αθήνα και στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο.
Ως μουσικός και εικαστικός καλλιτέχνης, στα έργα του Stokes συνυπάρχουν αρμονικά οι παραδοσιακές τεχνικές και οι σύγχρονες καλλιτεχνικές αναζητήσεις.

"Apophenic Canard" opens this coming Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Phoenix Athens with new sculptures, paintings and drawings by artist Joseph Stokes (UK).
The works featured were created both in Athens and the UK.
A musician and visual artist, Stokes' work reflects a deep engagement with traditional craftsmanship and contemporary artistic inquiry.

Phoenix Athens Residency offers artists, academics and creatives from all walks of life with lodging, facilities and an exhibition. This urban residency focuses upon craft, theory, ecology and community engagement.
The studio and gallery space is Located in the neighbourhood of Neapoli-Exarchia, just minutes by foot from Athens city center museums, galleries and monuments.

Interacting with art can slow ageing process, study shows. Research from the University College London demonstrates that participating in art yields biological benefits similar to physical activity.

What a pleasure to welcome the architecture students from California Baptist University ( ) this Saturday, where Kristi Lippire teaches!
The tour gave students a chance to discover Lippire’s latest works, learn more about the evolution of Athenian architecture and society over the years in order to understand the parallels and contrasting differences with the history of California.
Much thanks to the faculty and students at CBU you for bringing your unique perspective to the conversation!

OPENING THIS FRIDAY!
With the exhibition “Notes on Light and Material”, artist Kristi Lippire combines her impressions of the architecture and light of her native Los Angeles with that of Athens.
The paintings and sculptures resonate with the contrasting forms of these cities against the social context to convey a spirit of idealism through light, form, and color.
Exhibition runs from May 8th through May 21st
