The Byzantine Museum Antivouniotissa of Corfu – a hidden gem in the Old Town.

Located inside the historic Church of the Virgin Antivouniotissa, the Byzantine Museum of Corfu houses an exceptional collection of Byzantine and post-Byzantine icons, some dating back to the 15th century.

What makes this place even more fascinating is that the church is still occasionally used for worship - it holds a service only twice a year. In the yard, you can also see an old tomb, adding another layer of history and mystery to this remarkable place.

Surrounded by centuries-old architecture, beautiful icons and an atmosphere of quiet spirituality, the museum offers a unique glimpse into Corfu’s religious, artistic and cultural heritage.
