Experience from our Youth Workers
Our participation in the + training course “ ”, held in , Romania (20/04–25/04), constituted a comprehensive non-formal learning experience, with a strong focus on democratic participation and youth engagement. The programme stood out for its coherent structure and high level of organization, while the trainers, through consistency and meaningful guidance, created a safe environment that encouraged the active involvement of participants.
The methodology was based on the use of art as a tool for learning and expression, combining creative practices with targeted pedagogical approaches. Through activities that included, among others, painting, theatre, sewing, and photography, participants were encouraged not only to engage with concepts related to democracy, but also to design and test their own methods for future training courses. Indicatively, the creation of symbolic elements, such as designing a new flag, as well as the reimagining of youth spaces based on values such as education, environmental protection, and inclusivity, highlighted the connection between creativity and participatory learning.
At the same time, collaboration with participants from Bulgaria, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, Czechia, Romania, Poland, and Lithuania contributed significantly to the development of intercultural dialogue and the creation of networks among youth workers. Activities such as the simulation of the European Parliament enhanced the understanding of key political processes, while the process of designing, testing, and receiving feedback strengthened the practical application of knowledge.
This experience highlighted in practice the core values of Erasmus+, such as cooperation, mutual understanding, and active participation. As youth workers, we now feel more prepared to design inclusive and creative educational activities, as well as to foster dialogue and youth participation within local communities, by utilizing non-formal education tools with a meaningful impact.

It reflects authentic moments of collaboration, intercultural exchange, and learning, showcasing how youth come together to share ideas, express themselves, and actively engage in European values.
Developed with passion and a strong youth spirit, the video highlights the importance of participation, inclusion, and empowerment, especially for young people with fewer opportunities.
Through non-formal learning experiences, participants strengthened key competences such as communication, teamwork, and active citizenship, while building meaningful connections across cultures.
💛 A special thank you to our volunteers for their inspiration, creativity, and dedication.

The “mooveEUforward” project, part of the 2025 Erasmus+ KA152 YOU – Youth Mobility call, was organised by –Associação Cívica Europeia. Social Inclusion Association (Greece) participated in the project as a partner organisation, contributing to the preparation and involvement of participants.
The mobility activity took place in Rio Tinto, Portugal (headquarters of the coordinating organisation) from 22 to 27 April 2026, bringing together 32 young people with fewer opportunities (aged between 18 and 30) and 8 adult group leaders (one from each partner organisation, with no age limit). The youth mobility programme included participants from Portugal, Italy, Denmark, Greece, Lithuania, Georgia, Spain, and Ireland.
The project organised various activities at the Rio Tinto Youth Centre, the Associação Beneficente Familiar, and AMP – Associação de Municípios do Porto. Cultural activities also took place in the cities of Porto and Guimarães, providing participants with opportunities for intercultural exchange and experiential learning.
The project was developed in response to a shared observation among partner organisations that many young people in Europe, particularly those facing vulnerable situations, remain distant from European issues, with low levels of civic, political, and democratic participation. This often leads to a weak sense of European citizenship, limited to passive engagement rather than active and meaningful participation.
Through its involvement, supported the active engagement of young people from Greece, promoting inclusion, participation, and awareness of European values, while contributing to the overall objectives of strengthening active citizenship and youth empowerment.
