Due to a last-minute withdrawal, one final spot is available for a participant from Greece who is genuinely motivated and available to take part in the full programme.

We are looking for a youth worker, youth leader, trainer, educator or volunteer (18+) actively working with young people and able to communicate in English.

Ο ξαφνικός θάνατος του #ΓιώργουΜαζωνάκη προκάλεσε ένα μεγάλο κύμα συγκίνησης. Άνθρωποι από τον καλλιτεχνικό χώρο, μέσα ενημέρωσης και χιλιάδες πολίτες μίλησαν για έναν ξεχωριστό καλλιτέχνη, για το ταλέντο του, την αυθεντικότητά του και για το πόσο θα λείψει.

Μέσα όμως σε αυτή τη συλλογική θλίψη γεννιέται ένα ερώτημα που ξεπερνά το συγκεκριμένο πρόσωπο και αφορά όλους μας:

Δείχνουμε την ίδια αγάπη, κατανόηση και τον ίδιο σεβασμό στους ανθρώπους όταν είναι ακόμη εδώ και περνούν μια δύσκολη περίοδο της ζωής τους;

Πριν από περίπου έναν χρόνο, όταν ο Γιώργος Μαζωνάκης βρέθηκε στο επίκεντρο μιας εξαιρετικά προσωπικής και δύσκολης υπόθεσης που περιλάμβανε την εισαγωγή του σε ψυχιατρική δομή, μεγάλο μέρος της δημόσιας συζήτησης μετακινήθηκε από τον άνθρωπο στο «θέμα».

Λεπτομέρειες της προσωπικής του ζωής αναλύθηκαν, οικογενειακές σχέσεις έγιναν αντικείμενο δημόσιας συζήτησης και το ζήτημα της ψυχικής υγείας βρέθηκε για ακόμη μία φορά αντιμέτωπο με στερεότυπα, υπαινιγμούς και εύκολες ετικέτες.

Δεν γνωρίζουμε —και δεν είναι δική μας δουλειά να αποφανθούμε— τι πραγματικά συνέβαινε στην προσωπική ή στην ψυχική του κατάσταση. Ούτε μπορούμε να γνωρίζουμε τα κίνητρα και τις προθέσεις κάθε ανθρώπου του στενού του περιβάλλοντος.

Αυτό που μπορούμε, όμως, και οφείλουμε να συζητήσουμε είναι ο τρόπος με τον οποίο εμείς, ως κοινωνία και τα μέσα ενημέρωσης, αντιμετωπίζουν έναν άνθρωπο όταν βρίσκεται σε μια ευάλωτη περίοδο της ζωής του.

Υπάρχει κάτι βαθιά αντιφατικό στο να παρακολουθούμε με περιέργεια, να σχολιάζουμε, να αναλύουμε ή ακόμη και να χλευάζουμε έναν άνθρωπο στις δύσκολες στιγμές του και, όταν αυτός φύγει από τη ζωή, να ανακαλύπτουμε ξαφνικά πόσο σημαντικός ήταν, πόσο τον αγαπούσαμε και πόσο πολύ θα μας λείψει.

Και η αντίφαση αυτή δεν σταματά εκεί.

Μετά από μια απώλεια, συχνά παρατηρούμε έναν νέο κύκλο υπερπροβολής: ώρες τηλεοπτικού χρόνου, επαναλαμβανόμενες εικόνες, οι ίδιες πληροφορίες ξανά και ξανά, αναζητήσεις νέων λεπτομερειών, δηλώσεις ανθρώπων που γνώριζαν τον εκλιπόντα περισσότερο ή λιγότερο και μια συνεχή ανάγκη να παραχθεί καινούργιο «περιεχόμενο» γύρω από τον θάνατό του.

Πότε σταματά η ενημέρωση και πότε αρχίζει η εκμετάλλευση της ανθρώπινης απώλειας;

Η ενημέρωση αποτελεί αναπόσπαστο μέρος μιας δημοκρατικής κοινωνίας. Υπάρχει όμως μια λεπτή αλλά ουσιαστική γραμμή ανάμεσα στην ενημέρωση και στη συνεχή αναπαραγωγή μιας προσωπικής τραγωδίας.

Γιατί πίσω από το δημόσιο πρόσωπο υπάρχει ένας άνθρωπος.

Και πίσω από τον άνθρωπο υπάρχει μια οικογένεια που πενθεί.

Υπάρχουν συγγενείς και άνθρωποι που τον αγάπησαν και οι οποίοι έχουν δικαίωμα να βιώσουν την απώλειά τους χωρίς κάθε στιγμή του πένθους τους να μετατρέπεται σε εικόνα, δήλωση, τίτλο ή τηλεοπτικό θέμα.

Το πένθος χρειάζεται χώρο. Χρειάζεται χρόνο. Και πάνω απ’ όλα χρειάζεται σεβασμό και ιδιωτικότητα.

Αυτό δεν αφορά μόνο την περίπτωση του Γιώργου Μαζωνάκη. Αφορά τον τρόπο με τον οποίο έχουμε μάθει να καταναλώνουμε την ανθρώπινη δυσκολία: πρώτα ως είδηση, μετά ως τηλεοπτικό θέμα και, τελικά, ως θέαμα.

Η ψυχική υγεία δεν είναι τηλεοπτικό θέαμα.

Η ανθρώπινη ευαλωτότητα δεν είναι περιεχόμενο.

Και το πένθος μιας οικογένειας δεν είναι προϊόν προς κατανάλωση.

Ως Association, πιστεύουμε σε μια κοινωνία στην οποία η ψυχική υγεία συζητείται χωρίς φόβο και χωρίς στίγμα και στην οποία η ενημέρωση μπορεί να συνυπάρχει με την ανθρώπινη αξιοπρέπεια.

Μια κοινωνία που δεν χρειάζεται να γνωρίζει κάθε λεπτομέρεια για να δείξει ενδιαφέρον.

Μια κοινωνία που μπορεί να πει κάποια στιγμή: «Αρκεί. Τώρα ας αφήσουμε τους ανθρώπους να πενθήσουν».

Και ίσως αυτό είναι το σημαντικότερο μήνυμα:

Ας μη χρειάζεται να χάσουμε έναν άνθρωπο για να θυμηθούμε πόσο τον αγαπούσαμε.

Ας είμαστε περισσότερο παρόντες όταν οι άνθρωποι είναι εδώ.
Ας ακούμε περισσότερο όταν δυσκολεύονται.
Ας κρίνουμε λιγότερο όταν είναι ευάλωτοι.
Και όταν φύγουν, ας επιτρέπουμε στους ανθρώπους που μένουν πίσω να τους αποχαιρετούν με αξιοπρέπεια.

Γιατί η φροντίδα, η αποδοχή και ο σεβασμός έχουν αξία όχι μόνο όταν εκφράζονται δημόσια, αλλά κυρίως όταν προσφέρονται την κατάλληλη στιγμή.

🌍🚆 Routes to Resilience – Our DiscoverEU Journey Across Europe! 🇪🇺

Our first DiscoverEU Inclusion Action journey has come to an end — but the experiences, connections and memories continue!

From Greece to Romania, Hungary and Croatia, our young participants travelled across Europe, discovering new places, meeting local communities and organisations, experiencing different cultures and learning through the journey itself.

But this journey was about much more than travelling from one country to another.

💙 It was about independence and resilience.
🌍 About discovering Europe beyond borders.
🤝 About meeting people and building new connections.
🗣️ About communicating in different languages and environments.
🚆 About learning how to navigate, cooperate, make decisions and face the unexpected.
🇪🇺 And above all, about making European mobility and learning experiences more inclusive and accessible to young people.

Throughout the journey, our participants took part in educational and intercultural activities together with our European partners, while also experiencing the challenges and opportunities of travelling independently across different countries.

A heartfelt thank you to in Romania, in Brașov and in Croatia for welcoming our group and contributing to this experience. 🤝💙

And, of course, congratulations to our young travellers for completing this journey! We hope that they returned home not only with photographs and memories, but also with greater confidence, new perspectives and a stronger sense of what it means to be part of Europe.

The Social Inclusion Association is looking for motivated participants from Greece to join the Erasmus+ KA153 Training Course “Cyber Sages” in Istanbul!
The project will bring together 34 youth workers from 8 countries for 8 intensive activity days of non-formal learning, international exchange and practical workshops focused on navigating today’s digital information environment.
🔎 WHAT WILL YOU EXPLORE?
🔹 Media literacy & critical evaluation of online information
🔹 Fake news, misinformation & disinformation
🔹 Fact-checking & source verification
🔹 Propaganda, manipulation & clickbait
🔹 Deepfakes & AI-generated content
🔹 Prebunking techniques
🔹 Digital safety, privacy & online security
🔹 Designing tools and mini-campaigns for young people
The programme uses non-formal education, including simulations, games, practical workshops, teamwork and peer learning.
👥 WHO CAN APPLY?
We are looking for participants who:
✔️ Are 18+ — no upper age limit
✔️ Are youth workers, youth leaders, trainers, educators or volunteers working with young people
✔️ Are able to communicate in English
✔️ Are interested and motivated by the project topics
✔️ Can participate for the full duration of the Training Course
✔️ Are willing to share and multiply the results after returning to Greece

🌍 Participants with fewer opportunities are especially encouraged to apply.

Travel reimbursement covers the round trip according to Erasmus+ distance-band rules and is processed after the activity upon submission of the required travel documentation.
