"After two failed attempts in the near past, Voivod finally managed to make it to Greece, something that even vocalist Snake couldn’t believe when the first song they played was over. It seemed more of a bad luck that we hadn’t seen this band in our country so far, a band that made the difference in the ’80s, that established themselves in the ’90s and that in the ’00s just proved how great they were. With constants experimentations on their sound, they didn’t lose fans and they remained one of a kind. Adding to the fact that we had two more great American bands, also for the first time in Greece, being Soilent Green and Today Is The Day, made the whole event much more attendable. [...]"

On this day, back in 2011, the band took over An Club in Athens for a loud and sweaty club show, with Madleaf warming things up. Four albums deep into their journey ("The Atomic Bitchwax", "Atomic Bitchwax II", "3", "TAB 4/T4B"), and just months away from dropping "The Local Fuzz", they were already locked into their groove.

Allochiria - "Commotion" (2023).

✒️"[...] "Casualties" is a storm of a tune, intense and brutal. Shrill guitars tower like a tidal wave while raging vocals froth and churn as they’re bellowed out over the tumult. The moments of quiet, where those reverberating guitars are allowed a moment to sway rather than assault, are really beautiful and give the track the breaking space it needs for the more extreme moments to be ever more impactful. [...] "Commotion" is a perfect third album for ALLOCHIRIA, displaying their fluency in writing and constructing massive songs that resonate emotionally. Towering, epic post-sludge with plenty of innovation makes it joyfully apparent that ALLOCHIRIA still have plenty in the tank."

Released in 2023, "Commotion" finds Allochiria pushing their sound into darker and more immersive territory. Balancing crushing heaviness with atmospheric depth and emotional weight, the album stands as a fully realized statement, further solidifying their place in the post-metal landscape.

Sun Of Nothing - "...In The Weak And The Wounded" (2007).

✒️"[...] The Athenian weirdoes have just released their sophomore effort and even though I know this band for four years, I still haven't managed to come to a conclusion about what music do they play. Their sound is a mixture between many different things such as ISIS style Post Hardcore, ENSLAVED's Progressive Black Metal, as well as the Sludge we were taught by bands like ACID BATH and THE MELVINS. Even though the album contains only seven songs (there is also an intro before Mr. Dudley's Soul), the duration is approximately 56 minutes, something that is justified by the band's style of monotonous and nihilistic approach to music [...]"

Nineteen years after the release of "...In The Weak And The Wounded", Sun of Nothing’s sophomore album still resonates with its dense, haunting atmosphere.
