Fake news is no joke! It spreads lies and misinformation, creating confusion and lack of trust of, sometimes, epidemic proportions.

How can science and technology help the world to battle this phenomenon which has been around since ancient times, but nowadays it seems more threatening than ever?

Our Data Engineer, Panagiotis Soustas, a field expert in Natural Language Processing, shares his thoughts on the most prominent tools and methodologies the field of modern language data analysis has to offer, in order for fake news to be detected and labeled.

During this winter, when Covid-19 safety regulations were stricter, Satori’s brilliant Data Scientist team, experimented on how to combine Artificial Intelligence with camera input feed in order to create a framework able to detect in real time the correct usage of masks in one or more persons simultaneously. In the following article we present the thought process and the development steps followed to design and implement this project which was spearheaded by Konstantinos Giorgas, who also authored this piece.

Το honor we decided to make a donation to Hope Spot. HopeSpot is an NGO which stands up to the abuse against women and is specialized in providing assistance and support to women who are victims of trafficking or domestic violence.

Our contribution will provide part of necessary funding towards completion of a guest house in Thessaloniki, aimed to provide shelter and accommodation to women who have suffered from domestic violence.
