As women lead the resistance against FGM, traditional communicators are transforming their stance into powerful cultural education through art and story telling in the Lower River Region of the Gambia. Girls Opportunity Alliance change is already happening.

As the Anti-FGM law faces debate in the High Court of the Gambia, GAMCOTRAP reaffirms its unwavering commitment to defending the Women's amendment Act 2015.

For decades, the organization has worked relentlessly to protect women and girls from Harmful Traditional Practices and we will forever stand firm in defending the laws that protect them.

The proceeding continues, We are upholding the law.

Today at the High Court of The Gambia, GAMCOTRAP stood firm.

The organization appeared as a defendant in the ongoing FGM case, represented by Lawyer Lamin K. Mboge of Mari bantang Chambers, to defend the law that protects women and girls.

This case is about justice, dignity, and human rights. We remain committed to ensuring that the anti-FGM law is upheld and that girls in The Gambia are protected from harmful practices.
