This page brings a story of a new prototype hut for Greenland.
The hut is being developed by Arctic Technology Centre (ARTEK) in collaboration with Tech College Greenland (KTI) in Sisimiut. Our goals are:
- To develop a hut for hunters, tourists or other outdoor people
- The hut size should be variable to satisfy broad range of user demands
- It should be possible to transfer the hut by dog sledges, small boats or snowmobiles
- The time and skills required for the hut assembly on site should be minimized
- Sustainable technologies should be integrated in the hut structure which will minimize the energy demand for energy from non-renewable resources
