Iceberg calving caught on camera ❄️
We had front row seats to a big iceberg calving. Maybe the biggest one we have seen yet?
Calving is a natural process where pieces of ice break off and fall into the water. The same process created the iceberg when it calved and separated from the glacier 🧊
The season has only just started, and our guide Johannes has already captured what might be the coolest video of the year
In situations like this we turn the boat and surf the waves formed by the calving. Might need to hold on for a minute 🤗
It’s important to keep a safe distance - especially to the big icebergs (video is zoomed in the beginning 🔍)

If you are going to experience the Icefjord, you might as well taste it too ✨
The Icefiord Cruise might be our favorite tour 🩵 Because it’s always good!
In sunshine, the contrasts feel sharp and endless. On cloudy days, the blue tones in the ice suddenly stand out. And during the late evening light, the icebergs turn gold, pink and orange in a way that honestly dosen’t look real.
It is one of those places people return to just to experience again in a different light ✨Nestled between icebergs, we invite you to join our favorite part of the trip. A drink made on board with glacier ice from the fjord, local plants and gin.
So if you only have time for one tour in Ilulissat, make it this one 🩵

You can fill every hour of your day with plans.
Or you can stay a little longer, slow down and enjoy the moment for a bit 💫
We rush way too much, especially during summer or when traveling. Always trying to see more, do more and fit more in our schedule 🫶
But some of the best moments out here happen when nothing is really happening at all.
So this summer we want to:
- Have less plans
- Watch more sunsets
- Go outside
- Do more things that make us forget to check our phones
- Try taking a different hiking trail
- Enjoy the sun
Think the icebergs look big from the city? You have no idea, just wait and see ❄️
Our cruise to the famous Icefiord departs every day. It’s a 2,5 hour trip and takes you close to the icebergs. And no, the view from the city does not do them justice at all.

Whale safari season is on !! 🐋🩵
Everyone, the humpback whales have arrived in Disko Bay and you know what that means 🙌
Our first tours start already on May 25, and honestly, we have been waiting for this all winter.
There is just something special about those first sightings each year. It’s been the talk of the city all week. Suddenly everyone on board is looking in the same direction, waiting for the next back fin or tail to appear.
Whale watching season might actually be one of our favorite time of the year 🤩

Today, the midnight sun returns ☀️
From now until late July, the sun will stay visible 24 hours a day here in Ilulissat.
Which basically means golden hour all the time 🧡
One of our favorite ways to experience it is from the water. Late at night, when the town gets quieter and the icefjord turns gold, pink and orange depending on the light and time of night
It’s a must do if you visit Ilulissat during summer!

We got up at 6:00 AM and stood in the freezing cold
Just to watch the sunrise ☀️
