We are proud to announce that since opening, we have partnered with the Gibraltar Heritage Trust in our retail space at the Tunnels, Gibraltar’s WWII Experience. They have supported our team in sourcing and supplying high-quality merchandise that reflects both the significance and the respect due to this period of Gibraltar’s history.

As part of our commitment, a portion of the profits generated by the shop is donated to the Gibraltar Heritage Trust to support their work in promoting and preserving Gibraltar’s heritage.

Our mural was created to reflect powerful themes; above all, remembrance. They gave their tomorrow so that we may have our today. Lest we forget.

Restoration Works At “City Under Siege” Lead To Identification Of Forg 05/11/2025

We’re thrilled to share that during the ongoing restoration works at the City Under Siege exhibition; officially known as Old Willis’s Magazine, our team at Wright Tech has identified a long-forgotten 18th-century defensive tower, once forming part of the magazine’s southern defences.

Through extensive historical research and cartographic analysis; supported by maps from the Great Siege (1779–1783) and a rare 1900 photograph, we’ve been able to confirm the tower’s location and role within the complex.

Even more remarkably, the tower contains a machicolation built directly into its base, a defensive shaft used to drop grenades or heavy projectiles onto enemy forces attempting to scale the cliffs below. This feature is unique in Gibraltar, and redefines our understanding of the site, not merely as a storage depot, but as an active defensive fortification.

This finding continues our mission to uncover and preserve Gibraltar’s layered military heritage, showing how centuries of adaptation and ingenuity shaped the Rock into one of the world’s most formidable fortresses.

Plans are now being adapted to ensure this rediscovered element is included within the site’s interpretation and accessible to future visitors.

Carl Orff: Carmina Burana 15/09/2025

The Gibraltar classical music society brought Carmina Burana to life in the most extraordinary way — two unforgettable nights at Spitfire Hall in The Tunnels.

Once a WWII workshop where engineers maintained the tunnel complex, Spitfire Hall has now found a new chapter as a cultural venue. The energy and scale of the performance resonated powerfully within its historic walls, proving how heritage spaces can be reimagined and brought back to life.

Huge credit to GBC for capturing the magic of the opening night so beautifully. A must-watch for anyone passionate about music, history, and the spaces where they meet.
