Prostate Cancer Gibraltar
Welcome to the Prostate Cancer Gibraltar page. Also check out our website at www.pcg.gi. The prostate is a walnut-sized gland found only in men.
It plays an important role in reproduction by helping to produce the fluid in semen. The prostate is positioned just below the bladder and surrounds the urethra, which passes urine from the bladder to outside the body. The prostate is tiny at birth but after puberty it enlarges, due to the rising levels of testosterone. The prostate gland manufactures an important liquefying component of semen. S*

Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride 2026: Gibraltar rides for men’s health
A successful ride with an important message
Gibraltar came together today for the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride 2026, a much-loved international event that brings vintage, classic and custom motorcycle riders together to raise awareness for men’s health.
Locally, the ride was organised by Dapper Riders Gibraltar and once again showed the strength, generosity and character of our community. Riders arrived in their finest dapper attire, motorcycles lined the streets, and the atmosphere was full of energy, style and purpose.
For Prostate Cancer Gibraltar, days like this matter because they help bring men’s health into everyday conversation. Prostate cancer, PSA checks and mental health are subjects that many men still find difficult to talk about. Events like the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride help change that.
Prostate Cancer Gibraltar would like to give a very special thank you to the Dapper Riders organising committee for their dedication, time and effort in making the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride 2026 in Gibraltar such a successful and memorable event.
Their organisation, enthusiasm and commitment helped bring riders, supporters and the wider community together in support of men’s health. Events like this help make prostate cancer awareness more visible and encourage important conversations that can lead to action.
We are extremely grateful for their continued support and for helping keep men’s health firmly on Gibraltar’s community agenda.

At our latest Prostate Cancer Gibraltar Buddies Meeting, psychologist Héctor Lozano, Director of Ocnos Psychology Clinic, led a thoughtful and much-needed conversation about the emotional impact of prostate cancer.
Héctor spoke about the uncertainty that so many men and families experience, the fear that can come with diagnosis and treatment, and the importance of talking openly rather than facing these challenges in silence. He also addressed the effect that prostate cancer can have on relationships, intimacy and emotional wellbeing, reminding everyone that support is needed not only medically, but psychologically too.
It was an important discussion that clearly resonated with many people in the room, and we are very grateful to Héctor and to for their support and contribution.

At our latest Prostate Cancer Gibraltar Buddies Meeting, Paul Buxton shared his prostate cancer journey with honesty, warmth and great generosity.
Paul explained how his diagnosis came unexpectedly while doctors were investigating another health issue. He spoke openly about the tests that followed, the uncertainty of those early days, the difficult decisions he had to make and the treatment route he ultimately chose. He also gave a very real and reassuring account of recovery, reminding everyone that behind every diagnosis there is a person trying to make sense of what is happening and move forward one step at a time.
His story was a powerful reminder that prostate cancer is not always discovered because of obvious symptoms, and that timely medical checks can make a life-changing difference.
We are very grateful to Paul for speaking so openly and for helping others feel more informed, supported and less alone.
