Augusta Ray

You can call me Gus🤘🏻💋 Her name is Augusta, but you can call her “Gus." NOW I get it. In 2022 alone, Augusta travelled to 13 different countries.

Growing up in Toronto, Ontario on a solid diet of eclectic music acts such as Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and Shania Twain, shaped her unique country-rock sound. Her incredible vocal talent, accompanying her beautifully-crafted songs and energetic, engaging stage presence, has made her the darlin' of the stage everywhere she goes.

For over the past nine years, Gus has been splitting her time betw

een Toronto and Nashville. When she’s not in writing sessions or studio sessions bringing her song babies to life, she spends much of her time travelling and performing for Canadian and American country/rock music fans. Over the course of her career, she has shared stages with notable acts such as Trace Adkins, Montgomery Gentry, Big & Rich, Cam, Michael Ray, Toby Keith, Jess Moskaluke, Brett Kissel and Tim Hicks among others. In the summer of 2017, Augusta was invited to perform at Summerfest; The World's Largest Music Festival, for the second year in a row. She performed among acts such as The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kool and The Gang, Elle King, Def Leppard, and Paul McCartney.

During Augusta’s time in Nashville, not only has there been a buzz around her captivating stage shows, but also her fresh take on honest, vulnerable songwriting. In 2016 and 2017, Augusta was awarded both songwriter of the year and female artist of the year by the North American Country Music Association International. She currently has songs on hold by major label artists, and is constantly working on new material to add to her lengthly catalogue. In November of 2019, Augusta was invited to make her debut at the legendary Bluebird Café in Nashville, and has since made several appearances there as a featured writer.

Countless legends and writers I’ve looked up to my whole life have graced that stage, and some of my favourite country music couples have found love in that room. The place truly is magic, and it feels more magical, with every performance on that stage."

Since January 2020, Augusta has been able to combine her passion for music with her passion for travel, through working with Carnival Cruise Line as a guitar soloist. Since starting with the company, Augusta has performed on five different ships, and has travelled to countless countries. Most recently, Augusta completed a contract on the Carnival Luminosa, as a member of the ship's inaugural entertainment // musician team. This contract was based out of Australia, with stops in New Zealand and Fiji.

In addition to her love for music, Augusta is a proud mental health advocate, with a passion of promoting the importance of self-love and self-acceptance. This comes from overcoming her own struggles after being diagnosed with an eating disorder and beating it! Augusta often takes to her social media outlets to spread messages of empowerment and self-love.

FUN FACT:
Gus developed an interest in classical music at an early age. By the time she was 9 years old, Augusta was singing opera arias that were hundreds of years old, in three different languages. By the time she was 11, Augusta was recognized as a child prodigy opera singer, and was invited to make her performance debut at the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York City. She then followed up this debut with a second performance at the famous music venue a year later. It was around this time, that Augusta decided to pursue her true passion; Country Music.

Some sweet Spanish snaps from this past week🇪🇸💃🏻✨ Thankful to have gotten to spend some time back in one of my favourite places in the whole world♥️🥹 Of course, the perfect end to this mini-European adventure was getting to see two of my favourite humans ( & .brodie.scott ) in Alicante♥️😭 What an absolute gift it is to have friends from different parts of the world🌍✈️ I miss my beautiful friends, their beautiful country, and their country’s beautiful Sangria already🙃🥲🍷

New destination unlocked🔓✨ Kinda embarrassed I had never heard of ‘The Rock of Gibraltar’ or ‘St. Michael’s Cave’ before this last cruise contract… What a hidden gem💎 Gibraltar is known for its perfect mix of both English and Spanish culture, AND for having the only population of wild monkeys in all of Europe⛰️🐒 Almost smuggled a monkey back onboard, but then I remembered that I like my job, and don’t wanna get fired😂 This was such a fun pre-work adventure♥️

It was a short, but oh so sweet contract, rockin’ on the Carnival Dreammmmm🛳️🧜🏻‍♀️✨ Had an amazing crossing from Texas all the way to Spain with some amazing guests that have turned into forever friends♥️✨ If anyone needs me, I’ll be hibernating for a bit, trying to get my sleep schedule sorted out😂 What a cool first contract of the year!
