THANK YOU, IWAHLM-17

Yesterday ENG8 Co-Founder Haslen Back took to the stage in Bergamo to present the EnergiCell® — a plasma-based LENR system producing excess thermal and electrical energy at COP factors of 7–10, built predominantly from commercially available components, and scalable from milliwatts to megawatts.

The response from the LENR community was very encouraging.
ENG8 was not alone. Across IWAHLM-17, a number of presentations from independent researchers confirmed transmutation and excess energy production in LENR reactors, which align with what ENG8 has been measuring from its EnergiCell®

The 100 kW Modular Steam Generator is in development. Industrial customers are the next step. A 100 kW Electricity Generator and 100 kW Hot Air/Gas Generator follow in the programme.

ENG8 has a 35-strong engineering team and 12 to 18 months of work ahead to put its first megawatt of generating capacity into service.
If you were here and want to continue the conversation, get in touch. If you were not, meet us at ICCF27 in Niagara this late August.

ENG8 TO PRESENT AT MAJOR INTERNATIONAL LENR SYMPOSIUM IN ITALY

We’re excited to announce that ENG8 will be presenting at the 17th International Workshop on Anomalies in Hydrogen Loaded Metals (IWAHLM-17), taking place in Bergamo, Italy, 23–26 March 2026.

Organised by The French Society for Condensed Matter Nuclear Science (SFSNMC), this respected international symposium convenes leading researchers, scientists, and commercial organisations advancing the field of Low Energy Nuclear Reactions (LENR).

WHY THIS MATTERS
This year’s programme introduces a new emphasis on connecting researchers with investors and commercial partners — creating a timely platform as ENG8 advances toward commercial deployment.

As global demand for scalable clean energy solutions accelerates, IWAHLM-17 provides an important forum to demonstrate both scientific credibility and tangible technological progress.

WHAT ENG8 WILL PRESENT
• A formal presentation on our EnergiCell® technology
• Our 100kW Thermal Power Plant MVP, which will be on site in Bergamo, achieving COPs of 7–10 and delivering significant cost advantages over conventional energy sources
• Technical insights into a gas-cycle LENR reactor presented by one of our collaborating scientists

We look forward to engaging with the global clean energy innovation community, sharing our latest progress, and exploring strategic collaboration opportunities.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Dr Alan Smith, former CEO and a leading figure in the International Society for Condensed Matter Nuclear Science (ISCMNS).

Alan’s curiosity and determination led him to explore the frontiers of LENR (Low Energy Nuclear Reactions), from innovative fuels and advanced materials to new approaches for generating electricity. He believed in the potential of emerging energy technologies to make a real difference, and his enthusiasm was both inspiring and contagious.

At ENG8 Energy, we valued his encouragement and thoughtful engagement with our work. Alan consistently supported the integrity of our technology while fostering constructive scientific discussion across the LENR community.

More than a scientist, Alan was a generous mentor and collaborator. His energy, patience, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to work with him.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the wider ISCMNS community. He will be greatly missed.

2026 AT ENG8: A DEFINING YEAR AHEAD

2026 is set to be our most pivotal year yet as we advance our 100kW Thermal Power Plant MVP towards commercial deployment.

The momentum is building:
Investment activity continues as more recognise the potential of LENR innovation. We are actively pursuing EU and Portuguese grants to secure non-dilutive funding, while interest in our EnergiCell® technology continues to grow across the clean energy community.

Our focus is clear: complete MVP development and advance towards our first commercial clients.

We will also be presenting our technology at an international LENR symposium in Italy this March - more details coming soon.

Here's to accelerating the transformation of clean energy provision in 2026.

As 2025 draws to a close, we would like to thank our investors and supporters for your continued trust and encouragement. Your backing has been instrumental as ENG8 moves closer to commercial reality through strong technical progress and growing commercial momentum during the year.

2025 highlights include:
- Independent validation of an EnergiCell® system self-powering for 160 minutes
- Strong progress on our 100 kW thermal MVP, achieving a stable COP of 10
- Target energy costs of ~€15/MWh, well below conventional alternatives
- First US patent granted, with further international IP progressing

Looking ahead, we are finalising our current funding round and will then focus on MVP completion, first deployments and revenue generation. ENG8 will also host an International LENR Seminar on 10 February 2026 at the University of Aveiro, bringing together leading voices from science, research and industry. More details will be shared in early January.

We move into the new year with strong momentum, backed by validated technology, strengthening IP and a clear path to commercialisation.

From everyone at ENG8, we wish you a wonderful Christmas and a healthy, prosperous New Year.

ENG8 has completed a new independent validation of the EnergiCell® with physicist Jean-Paul Biberian. The assessment confirmed extended periods of self-sustaining operation, meaning the system continued running after the initial starting pulse without further electrical input.

Independent validation is an important step for investors and partners as it helps to reduce technical risk and provides clearer visibility on development priorities. This review offered detailed insight into system behaviour and highlighted key engineering areas that will shape the next stage of the programme.

The findings support ENG8’s development pathway and outline the engineering focus for upcoming work, including improved pressure stability, refined electrode materials and enhanced system reliability.

ENG8 will continue to progress the EnergiCell platform through structured testing and further third-party assessments. These evaluations remain central to our approach as we advance from laboratory demonstrations towards a robust and repeatable technology platform.

Japan's hydrogen fusion breakthrough marks a major step in clean energy innovation.

Researchers at New Hydrogen Fusion Energy Inc. (Toyota, Aichi) have demonstrated practical heat generation from fusion using ordinary hydrogen as fuel.

Based on the TSC theory developed by Professor Emeritus Akito Takahashi, the process produces helium-3 and heat without detectable radiation. Unlike conventional fusion, it requires no heavy shielding or radioactive waste management and operates safely within industrial temperature ranges. Field tests of NHFE’s hydrogen fusion heating system begin this winter.

If proven at scale, this approach could redefine how heat is generated for industrial and community applications. At ENG8, we see this as an important advance towards safe, decentralised and low-carbon heat technologies.

When ambition meets reality, the energy transition faces hard limits.

Read the full blog here: https://eng8.energy/beyond-renewables-missing-link-energy-transition/

In Australia, new analysis from the Centre for Independent Studies (CIS) shows that electricity prices rise sharply once wind and solar generation exceeds certain thresholds. Meanwhile, in Pakistan, rapid deployment of solar-powered irrigation has contributed to groundwater depletion, demonstrating how even well-intentioned energy solutions can create unintended consequences if local resources and system interactions are not considered.

We believe the next phase of clean energy innovation must combine engineering and economic realism with advanced technology. Our latest blog, “Beyond Renewables – The Missing Link in the Energy Transition,” explores the limits of high renewable pe*******on and presents EnergiCell® technology as a flexible, low-emission, dispatchable solution capable of powering industrial, commercial, residential users and the grid.
