It’s immaturity that causes us to value exposure over intimacy. If we truly knew the cost of announcement we’d beg God ‘just a little longer with you’.

Like a child craving independence so bad and anxious to leave home who later realises they would come to long for the warmth, safety and security of home again.

Hidden is safe, warm, cared for. Hidden is having someone responsible for you. Hidden is being well kept and not having to fight battles on your own. Hidden is being so well loved that you’re prepared for the outside world finally when it’s time to move + when you do go, hidden remains your anchor that you take with you.

Hidden is never leaving the secret place.

This is my prayer for you. That you want to be with God alone and that you let him be your only desire and your only satisfaction; your all in all. And that you realise that most of spiritual growth is this, knowing to stay close.

No other god would give their life for you. None. And they know the rules, and they still chose to play. They know that for them to exist all their servants must die gruesomely, daily.

Only God was bold enough to say even if it kills me, I’ll protect you. And only God was powerful enough to not be destroyed by death.

Because that’s the other shoe; those other gods cannot actually be destroyed and they know it too.

Anyway, I’m so very glad that the God I’m serving is also my father. And he’s no coward. And he’s so powerful. And he loves me more than he loves relevance or power (even having ALL of it).

And thus, I win.

Ps. I think sometimes about how God couldn’t look at Jesus on that cross. And we know it’s because of the sin yes? But that was his son too, his own child. I’m so inclined to imagine that no father can bear to watch their child go through that kind of suffering.

This is so sad. I’m proud to be Nigerian and I love my country. Maybe if I didn’t I wouldn’t be so grieved for years now. Intercession for sure is always sacrifice but the labour for this nation in the place of prayer is back breaking work. Mercy Lord. Mercy Nigerians.

My first love. Film.

I don’t talk too much about this because it’s my thing. Mine. Sacred. I’d be content keeping this all to myself but I’m so proud of all the films I’ve ever done and all that I’d still get to do.

is one of the most brilliant filmmakers I know. I love working with people who get it. He does. It was such an honour for me to bring this story to life with words. It was such an important story to be told. I’m immensely grateful that I got to do this and with the 🐐
