Most vehicles have a recirculation button as part of their AC controls, but many of us aren’t sure when to use it. The simple rule of thumb is to use it in the summer and turn it off in the winter.
The recirculation button works by taking the air inside your car and recirculating it within the cabin, rather than pulling in fresh air from outside. On extremely hot days, if you don't use the recirculation feature, your AC system has to cool the hot air from outside, which can be less efficient.
By recirculating the cooler air inside the car, you can cool your vehicle more quickly and reduce the strain on your AC system.
Side note: If your car has been sitting in the sun, it’s better to roll the windows down and turn off recirculation for the first minute or so. This allows the superheated air inside to escape before you turn the recirculation on.
Additionally, anytime you’re stuck in traffic—whether it’s summer or winter—be sure to use the recirculation feature. If you’re pulling air from outside, you’re also pulling in pollutants and carbon monoxide from the traffic around you. Studies show that using the recirculation feature can reduce the amount of pollutants entering your vehicle by 20% when you’re stuck in traffic.

What is wheel alignment?
Wheel alignment, part of standard automobile maintenance that consists of adjusting the angles of wheels to the car manufacturer specifications. The purpose of these adjustments is to reduce tire wear and to ensure that vehicle travel is straight. Three elements of wheel alignment CAMBER, CASTER & TOE.
What are the symptoms of your car being out of alignment?
- Uneven tire wear
- Steering wheel being crooked when you are driving straight.
- The car is pulling to one side
-Tires are making squeling noise
When to do wheel alignment?
Wheel alignment checked at least every 10,000km and automatically every time you change new tires or at least 2-3 yearsyears but depending on the road condition if there are many potholes at least once a year.

Vehicle Care 🚘
Do you know overheating can damage your engine ⁉️
A car engine gets hot due to its internal workings. That’s normal. And there are radiators and coolants to keep its temperature regulated.
But if you find the temperature gauge shooting up, that’s cause for concern because the engine can heat enough to melt itself!
Here’s what you can do to cool your car’s engine:
👉🏾Check the coolant: Adding a fresh batch of coolant to your car should be all you would need to do if everything else in the engine bay is not problematic. Make sure to replace coolant every 48000 kms or three years, whichever comes first.
👉🏾Check the radiator: The radiator consists of a fan and some pipes. The coolant flows through the pipes while the fan cools the liquid and, in turn, the engine. Sometimes the radiator fan fails and sometimes it just runs out of water. You may refill it, and if the fan is not working, then call your mechanic right away.
👉🏾Thermostat Not Working: A thermostat lets coolant inside the water jacket to cool down an overheated engine. If the thermostat breaks down, the engine will obviously heat up. If this happens often, get the thermostat checked.
👉🏾Damaged Water Pump: A water pump is what helps in the flow of water and coolant to the engine and back to the radiator. A damaged water pump will not pump and hence this will lead to overheating. A thorough cooling system check will reveal this problem.
👉🏾Bad Hoses: Hoses are pipes that take the coolant and water from the radiator to the engine and vice-versa. A cracked hose or a leaking hose could be the cause of your engine overheating. It will be a good idea to check these and replace them if needed.

Parts and Functions of Vehicles
ℹ️The SNORKEL
Do you know what the Snorkel is ⁉️
This thing on these Vehicles is called a Snorkel.
A snorkel on a vehicle is a device that allows the engine to draw in air from a higher, cleaner location, rather than from the ground level where it may be contaminated by dust, water, or other debris. This is often used on vehicles that are driven in rough or off-road conditions, such as Land Cruisers, to help protect the engine and improve its performance. The snorkel is typically mounted on the side of the vehicle, and it extends upwards to a point above the highest level that the vehicle is likely to encounter. This could be the top of a deep stream or river, or the crest of a sand dune, for example.
To use the snorkel, the driver simply needs to engage the appropriate driving mode or switch, and the vehicle's computer will adjust the air intake settings to draw in air through the snorkel instead of the regular air filter. This allows the engine to continue running smoothly even in conditions where the air quality at ground level is poor.
Some Land Cruisers are also equipped with a feature called "Snorkel Mode" which raises the vehicle's suspension and adjusts the drivetrain and traction control settings to optimize performance in deep water or sand. This can be helpful in off-road situations where the vehicle may need to navigate through deep water or across soft, sandy terrain.
