Hon. Isaac Azunaba - MCE for Bawku

Today, I proudly joined residents of Bawku Municipality in the National Sanitation Exercise. Seeing our people come together to clean our communities reminds me that the strength of Bawku lies in our unity and our willingness to work together.
I sincerely thank everyone who participated and made today's exercise a success. Your commitment to keeping Bawku clean is a commitment to protecting our health, our environment, and our future.
Let us not make sanitation a once-in-a-while activity. Together, let's make cleanliness a daily habit and continue building the clean, healthy, and beautiful Bawku we all desire.
Thank you all for your support. Together, we will keep Bawku clean and move our municipality forward.

My dear people of Bawku,

MCE, Bawku Municipality

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
I extend my heartfelt Eid al-Adha greetings to all our Muslim brothers and sisters in the Municipality and beyond.
This blessed occasion reminds us of the unwavering faith and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.), and the timeless values of sacrifice, humility, and total submission to the will of Allah (SWT).
On this special day, I sincerely pray that Allah accepts your Qurbani, grants forgiveness for our shortcomings, and fills our homes with peace, mercy, and joy. I also take this moment to personally appeal to all residents of Bawku to continue choosing peace, forgiving one another, and strengthening unity among us as we work together for lasting stability and development in our beloved Municipality.
May Allah (SWT) guide us all and bless Bawku with enduring peace and progress.

Eid Mubarak.

Today, I had the honour of joining the Upper East Regional Minister, the Regional Police Commander, traditional authorities, traders, and residents to cut sod for the 24-Hour Economy Market Project.
This is not just a market project, it is a symbol of hope, progress, and opportunity for the people of Bawku. When completed, it will create jobs, support local businesses, improve security, and provide a modern and dignified trading environment for our hardworking people.
As MCE, seeing this vision begin gives me great joy because Bawku deserves development, growth, and opportunities that will improve lives. Together, we are building a better and more prosperous municipality for the next generation.

A new chapter of development and economic transformation is coming to Bawku.
On 19th May 2026, we will officially launch the 24-Hour Economy Market Project at Bawkzua Market under the visionary leadership of H.E. John Dramani Mahama.
This modern market project will provide improved trading spaces, warehouses, cold stores, security posts, clinics, food courts, offices, daycare facilities, and many more essential services to support businesses and create jobs for our people.
This is more than a market, it is an investment in the future of Bawku, our traders, our youth, and our local economy.
Together, we are building a modern, business-friendly, and prosperous Bawku Municipality.

Eid Mubarak to all our Muslim brothers and sisters.

As we mark this blessed day of Eid al-Fitr, I pray that Allah (SWT) accepts your Siyam, Salah, Zakat, and all acts of Ibadah performed during Ramadan. May He forgive our shortcomings and shower His mercy (Rahma) upon us all.

On this sacred occasion, let us embrace peace, unity, and forgiveness. I humbly call on everyone in Bawku to choose reconciliation and harmony, so that Allah (SWT) grants us lasting peace in our land.

May Allah (SWT) bless Bawku with enduring peace and barakah.

Eid Mubarak.

Yesterday was a proud and successful day for the Bawku Municipal Assembly as we supported our hardworking Master Craftsmen and Apprentices through the National Apprenticeship Program.
As part of the program, start-up tools and equipment were presented to beneficiaries who have completed their apprenticeship training. These items will help them begin their journey toward self-employment and sustainable livelihoods.
This initiative reflects the commitment of H.E. John Dramani Mahama to empower young people across Ghana through skills development, entrepreneurship, and job creation.
To our talented artisans and apprentices, these tools represent a new beginning. Use them to build your businesses, create opportunities for others, and contribute to the development of our beloved municipality.
The future of Bawku lies in the hands of our hardworking youth. As a Municipal Assembly, we will continue to support programs that empower our people, strengthen livelihoods, and encourage peace, unity, and progress in our community.
Together, we are building a stronger Bawku.

Today marks another important step in our commitment to empowering the youth of Bawku.
Through the National Apprenticeship Program, the Bawku Municipal Assembly is proud to distribute start-up support to our hardworking Master Craftsmen and Apprentices who have dedicated themselves to learning valuable skills that will drive local development and self-reliance.
This initiative reflects the vision of H.E. John Dramani Mahama to create opportunities for young people across the country by supporting skills training, entrepreneurship, and job creation.
To our artisans and apprentices, this support is not just equipment, it is a seed for growth, innovation, and independence. Use these tools to build businesses, create jobs, and inspire others in our communities.
The future of Bawku lies in the hands of our hardworking youth, and together we will continue to invest in programs that strengthen livelihoods and promote peace, unity, and progress in our municipality.

Today, I had the honour of joining students, teachers, security services, and residents of the Bawku Municipality at Bawku Senior High School to commemorate Ghana’s 69th Independence Day celebration. 🇬🇭
It was inspiring to witness our students proudly march on the parade ground, demonstrating discipline, unity, and patriotism as we celebrate this important milestone in our nation’s history. Their commitment and enthusiasm give us great hope for the future of Bawku and Ghana.
As we reflect on the meaning of independence, I also want to emphasize the importance of peace in our municipality. The peace we are experiencing today is still fragile, and it is our collective responsibility to protect and sustain it. Let us continue to work together to build a peaceful and prosperous Bawku for our children and generations yet unborn.
I commend the school authorities, teachers, security services, and all organizers whose dedication ensured a successful and memorable celebration. Your efforts continue to nurture the values of discipline, leadership, and national pride in our young people.
As we celebrate 69 years of independence, let us renew our commitment to peace, unity, and development within the Bawku Municipality and across our beloved Ghana. 🇬🇭
Happy Independence Day to all.
