Celebrating Girls in ICT Day 2026

Last Thursday, 23rd April, the world marked International Day for Girls in ICT. A day dedicated to inspiring and empowering young girls to explore opportunities in technology.

In honour of this celebration, the Ghana Education Service, Asuogyaman District Directorate, in collaboration with the Senchi Ferry Community Learning Center, organized an impactful and memorable program.

As part of the activities, girls from Primary and JHS levels participated in a hands-on tech bootcamp, where they were introduced to coding using HTML & CSS. For many of them, it was their very first experience building something with technology, and their enthusiasm was evident throughout the training.

Gracing the occasion were inspiring speakers and key stakeholders who shared valuable insights, encouraging the girls to explore the vast opportunities available in the tech space.

What a wonderful collaboration this has been. We look forward to many more impactful programs ahead.

Theme: Girls in ICT for Inclusive Digital Transformation

Join us as we celebrate, inspire, and empower young girls to explore opportunities in technology and become part of the digital future.

Our trainees will be giving exciting presentations on their tech bootcamp project and demonstrating the skills they have acquired throughout the training.

Come and support the next generation of innovators!

The Senchi Ferry Community Learning Center, in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service, Asuogyaman District Directorate, presents a three-week digital boot camp for Girls in the Senchi circuit in preparation for the annual International Girls in ICT Day celebration.
The training introduces young girls from both Primary and JHS to learn essentials in Web Development (HTML/CSS) with a capstone project.
How exciting to see young learners eagerly write their first line of code and see the change in action.
We encourage everyone, especially young girls, to take particular interest in learning digital skills.

Taking Learning Beyond Our Walls!

This week—and every week—the Senchi Ferry Community Learning Center is bringing education right to the doorstep of Atimpoku Presby Primary School.

We set up a temporary computer lab with systems from our center, giving pupils hands-on experience with computing. At the same time, another group took part in a lively literacy session to strengthen their reading and writing skills.
