Lighthouse. Today, it’s a lifeline for local youth—but it’s at risk.

DUNK Grassroots is taking the lead in restoring this space to safely serve 600 girls and boys,
challenging gender norms through sport and education.

What started with one basketball 🏀 , a few determined young people, and a whole lot of passion has grown into a movement powered by community, resilience, and belief in sport as a force for social change.

We marked this milestone by blending our 15th Anniversary with our 2026 In-Person General Assembly, bringing together long-serving and newly appointed Board Members to reflect, reconnect, and recommit to DUNK’s future. Huge appreciation to our Board for their financial contributions toward the 2025 Homecoming—a true show of leadership, trust, and shared ownership.

Hosted at Lincoln Community School, we also celebrated 10 years of partnership with LCS, surrounded by the community spirit that defines DUNK. From the Nima vs. Jamestown alumni games to mentoring sessions, a staff exhibition match, and an alumni spotlight panel—past, present, and future all showed up.

At 15, DUNK is still learning, still growing, and still refining—but with deeper roots, stronger partnerships, and a clearer vision forward. This wasn’t just a celebration of how far we’ve come, but a reminder of the people and principles carrying us ahead.

Bigger Than Me In Jamestown, one of Accra's oldest coastal communities, a historic underground site dating back to the 18th century is at risk of deterioration. Once used during the British colonial period to store goods arriving by ship and linked to Ussher Fort and the Jamestown Lighthouse, the space now serves....

This cause is bigger than me — and bigger than any one of us.

Through Bigger Than Me, young people are gaining access to safe spaces, mentorship, and opportunities that help them grow with confidence, purpose, and dignity. This project is about investing in youth leadership, positive role models, and community-driven change where it’s needed most.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps create real impact on the ground — from skills development to life-changing support for young people navigating tough realities.
