The mixing of co***ne and alcohol produces a potentially lethal substance called cocaethylene. This increases the chance of a heart attack.

Cocaethylene is an intermediate metabolite formed in the liver when co***ne & alcohol (ethanol) are present in the blood. It's the ethyl ester of benzoylecgonine which is structurally similar to co***ne, which is the methyl ester of benzoylecgonine.

Cocaethylene is produced during the metabolism of co***ne when ethanol is also being metabolized.
